Decidedly, Undyne takes the role of Toriel. In this scenario, she is the empress of monsterkind. As a ruler, it's her duty to take care and help everyone who comes across her. And luckily, the person she stumbles upon is NOT a human, but a monster, which is why she thinks he's part of her subject and is friendly towards him (plus the lack of intimidation in her track). Despite her aggressive nature, she always puts a cheerful smile on her face and acts like an actual, competent leader.

This theme is basically "Undyne" if it was more regal and heroic. I put a little bit of original motif to it due to her developed character. I had fun figuring out what she is in this AU and I'm hoping to share more of her since her character doesn't stop there! Beside, this track represents what people see her... rather than herself.

In early 2017, I found an announcement on SoundCloud for a Discord server related to a fun project I wanted to try and involve myself in. There, I'd meet some of my first friends in the Undertale AU community. This project was not Monster Mix, but it was something made by the same person. I'm unsure what prompted it, but I wound up helping them out with Monster Mix. It was one of the first projects I'd ever actively contribute something to, and the first AU I'd ever fall in love with. 
This contribution was the AU's "sans." replacement, known at the time as "lazy flames", but nowadays of course is known as Roastin' Peace.
We were dumb teenagers who were just doing what we enjoyed. I never really bothered worrying *too* much about who would see it, I was just thrilled to make my friend happy.

While motivation would dwindle from this initial version, the AU had seen many attempts at revisions as the years went by. Unfortunately, none of these would stick. A lot of the friends I made back then had left the community, including the one who originally made Monster Mix. We unfortunately also somewhat drifted apart as time went on, but we've been keeping in touch again a bit more recently.

It's been about 7 years since I first got involved with this project. Sometime last year, after digging through old files on my laptop, I found some of the songs I made for fun while reminiscing on the past much like I was this time. All of those, perhaps with some minor adjustments, were part of the very first batch of songs I would upload for this fun no-longer-little passion project.

I wanted to prove to that I could do it. Maybe in a selfish way I wanted to prove I could do it all by myself, too, but... at the end of the day I just wanted to make this project I've loved so dearly come to life again. I never did do it all by myself, of course. I had my friends involved. I even managed to drag Monster Mix's creator into this.
A lot of it *was* me. The art, the music, a lot of the writing... but it was all thanks to them I can even say I had a reason to do any of this.

This isn't the first project I've seen through to the end, but it's one I've always wondered what it'd feel like to complete. I still don't know! It's still not done! There's still songs left to post! But I'm close. We're real close to the end here, and we're getting closer and closer by the minute.

This would go incomplete without me acknowledging my friends who helped me along the way, too. I'd just like to take the time to thank Austhetic (@austhetic), Slick (@slick_silver), Penny (@theladiescallmebigmoney), Cacote (@cacoteaster), Red (@coat-of-red), Wabble (@wabble-deen), Spud (@spudward) and L (@user-255285003) for helping me with this too. Whether it was just by being there with me in my silly little group DM excited to see what I'd be cooking up or coming up with suggestions for names, context, inspirations... I'm thankful to have had you all by my side through this journey as well.

And of course... as cliche as this feels to say, I want to thank you. The viewers, listeners, whatever you may consider yourself to be among my audiences... it's been really amazing to see people get excited over what I initially considered to just be a silly little project that I'd upload stuff for for a week before fading back into obscurity after my archival work finished. It's been (generally) really fun reading all of the comments I get. (Sorry I don't always respond to those, by the way! Social anxiety's a bitch.) It's been fun watching people theorize, watching people figure things out and get them VERY wrong. (People getting it wrong was especially fun when it was intentional.)

You still have no idea who I am... Ok some things about me, just a really busy 16 year-old guy who's spontaneously producing au tracks. I take requests ocassionally or when i have more free time. i work on many aus (including someone's au) and several UT fangames. I make roleswap au tracks a lot more than crossover ones. I mostly make death by glamours, battle against a true heroes, heartaches, and asgores because those are my favorites and really fun to make. I don't make megalos (really sorry but I'm just not really into that) though I make custom genocide run final bosses at some point.

A: I consider "Chara and Asriel swap" to be my primary music project. There's more such as "Chaos Kings" and "Doused Flames". Upcoming project might be "Toriel and Asriel Swap" or "Mettaton and Asgore Swap". I'm not sure, but you can decide which one too based on what you're interested with.
