DJ Isuru is a London based DJ specialising in Bashment, Breakbeat and Acid House. Having studied an MA in Buddhist Studies at SOAS University Isuru presents the weekly SOAS Wednesday Sessions and Bhangra shows. He also makes radio documentaries on Bhangra and Asian Underground. Believing that the Sleng Teng Riddim created a paradigm shift in modern Music and that the 90s were an amazing era, DJ Isuru seeks to unite the room playing those pop hits which actually have artistic merit. His style can be described as alchemical and breaking apart song structure and finding the hidden links between genres,

A DJ born and bred from NW London.
As music has been in my family since day dot, I have just grown to love the beats and various sounds from different instruments by listening to South Indian Classical Kathak Music as my roots are originally from Kerala, Southern India.
This has lead me into music from the day I was born.

My DJ'ing career started with the Original Mirage Crew from West London and a guy called Jay.

Early 90'smixing down HipHop Beats with Bhangra, at weddings etc.

A friend gave me a call to take me down to a club that played the same style like how I was performing at these functions, a Club called Limelight were I was introduced to the likes of Mr Marky Mark, Max NRG, Hustlers, ADC ( DJ Raj R.I.P.)
It was the biggest Asian Club Night in the UK.

Hot'N'Spicy.

Within weeks I became a club resident.
 
From that I just became busier than hell performing in various clubs throughout the UK alongside the Hot'N'Spicy Crew. 

I moved onn whilst being at Limelight and cut loose from playin bhangra, kept with the HipHop beats and stuck to playing HipHop and RnB...
A touch of Jungle and Garage and of course Reggae..

As that was a big influence on me whilst growing up in NWLondon.

So from Limelight I hit various other clubs, worked along with some of the Top DJ's, a few to mention, Swing,R.I.P., Matt White, Brian Norman, Nick Smood, Chilli Source, Sammy Confunktion + Many more as well as Artists ...

Still DJ'ing to date, and resident at the 90's Night called Flashback.
