The son of an Eritrean father and Ojibwe mother from Skownin First Nations Reserve, Sly Skeeta's formative years were marred by the intergenerational effect of the residential school system. He battled poverty and homelessness as a youth and rather than succumb to the pressures of that life he chose to channel it into his music. He's an advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Children and performs yearly at the "No Stone Unturned'  annual concert in Winnipeg. His song "M.O.M.M.Y" , which speaks to the tragic circumstances Indigenous women face was so impactful it  was added to the archives of the Parliament of Canada.


He is a voice for the voiceless. He's an advocate for First Nation's youth who are affected by poverty, teen suicide and many other socio-economic issues. Sly Skeeta's music, voice  and songwriting  have  often  drawn  comparisons  to  Merkules,Winnipeg's Most and Swollen Members.  During his 22 year career he has performed both domestically and abroad. The most notable milestones are two Cross Canada tours, an Australian tour, the Rotterdam Caribbean Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands,  the Fry Bread Festival in Los Angeles and auditioning for a Roc Nation A&R at the legendary Quad Studio in New York City. These opportunities provided Sly Skeeta with the valuable experience needed to forge ahead in his career. 


He has released  2 mixtapes, an EP  and  a full  length album;  The HeArtist.  His latest single  "Get Hot"  features Juno nominated artist and producer 2 Rude. He's been interviewed by CBC, APTN, CTV and Energy 106 FM.  He is currently working on a new LP that will combine elements of Hip hop, Drum and Bass and Dancehall.  His new project is slated release in the summer of 2022. This  is  the  most honest  and  transparent  music  he’s  ever  made.  It's a true testament to his character and heritage.

Robbie Batten, a cornerstone of the North Carolina drum and bass scene, has been spinning records since 1999. As a founding member of the Illstreet Productions crew, Robbie has been instrumental in shaping the local music landscape, particularly through his work with Outburst. For over two decades, he has provided sound for countless shows, becoming a fixture at events across the state. Known for his traditionally dark style of drum and bass, Robbie has also expanded his repertoire into multiple genres while always keeping dnb at the core of his sets. Illstreet Productions, under his influence, has been hosting unforgettable parties for over 10 years, solidifying their reputation as a driving force in the drum and bass community. Robbie's contributions have been crucial to the growth and evolution of the scene, making him a respected and influential figure among fans and fellow DJs alike.

His technical mastery in the studio is nothing short of jaw-dropping, all the while producing fun, hard-driving, and energetic music. From drum & bass to breakbeat to electro, with hints of dubstep, Tripwave is aways taking his sound to a whole new level. From over a decade of being a Professional Audio Engineer, he takes pride in the sounds he creates, and the many artists he helps. Live performances by Tripwave are also a sight to be seen! His technical wizardry carries out onto the stage as well with his hybrid live pa/dj setup, that always rocks the dancefloor. Always a music enthusiast, Mich has been involved in purveying quality electronic music since the late 90s.  Growing up and experiencing the warehouse party days in Winnipeg and being influenced by New Order, Depeche Mode, Brian Eno, the Paradise Garage, Chicago Warehouse, and the Detroit Techno scene, he brings a funk, soul and beat driven ethos to all sets and sounds.  Co-founder and instrumental in the birth of the M.E.M.E. festival (www.memetic.ca) in Winnipeg, he is always striving to bring high quality productions and sounds to the masses.  His sets are always mixed in a manner that transforms the sounds into a bumpy, deep, funky, sexy , and creative bassline vibe.  

Pulling from 90s jakkin house, detroit synth soul, deep soulful basslines, intoxicating vocal hooks and a dancefloor grinding ethos, his sets are always sure to make you groove and put a smile on your face!
