Christmas on LV-426 (OSC 190 - Vital)

This is my submission to the #kvraudio #OneSynthChallenge #190 featuring the VST Synth Vital from Matt Tytel.
All sounds are coming from the Synth acompanied by a number of moderate tone shaping, mixing and mastering fx. All fx free or built into the DAW. DAW is Bitwig 5.3.x. No Samples. No Postprocessing after the audio export.

What it says on the KVR-Site about still ongoing buzz around Vital: Vital - the awesome spectral morphing wavetable synth is currently at version 1.5. We last visited this beast about four years ago in OSC142 and it is still the 'goto' synth of choice for many.

I tried to finish something, even if it wasn't a completed track. My experience with Zebralette became inspiring at the very last moment.

I used some factory presets, a couple of TSOM presets (1 Pad) and DR (1 Kick), and modified many presets, especially to create a drum kit. This was a really tough challenge because I still have a lot to learn about synths in general, and this synth, despite being truly beautiful, is very complicated for me.
I have to thank The Sound of Merlin, CrazyIvan, NeverBeeenInARiot, and Taron (also for the tutorials, thanks to which I somehow managed to create some presets) for their patience, moral and technical support. I received really great advice 😊

This time I focused on rough analog tones and glitchy sound effects this synth is really capable of. Sometimes limited instruments like this can bring new ideas more effectively than a feature packed commercial product. It makes you want to tweak it rather than constantly switching through hundreds of presets. Though, I had to multitrack it sometimes to get thicker sounds and polyphonic patches, but since OSC188 I'm not afraid of that.

The idea of the song came after watching a new T*** movie trailer.

But every time he tried to create a Phoenix, it turned into a fire-breathing monster that knew neither friend nor foe. This time it hit Harold's flock of sheep... Only a few animals survived the attack. Fortunately, the creature turned back to ash in a few minutes. Was the merchant in KreVaRon ripping him off when he sold him the old manuscript from Ragnarök? He made his way to his old mentor Norat. He looked at the notes, but couldn't find any serious errors. Of course, as always, he found fault here and there. He was never completely satisfied with Ooriv's work, but that was always incentive enough to continue. Ooriv took notes and went back to his laboratory to try again. This time it had to succeed..."
