The Journey - Under The Lamp

It's been a long time coming... but we are just as excited to share this with you now, as we were when it happened.

Back in March, headlining our first event back after a year on pause, Gabriel Moraes went Under The Lamp to a sold out audience.

Raring and full of energy, every person on that dancefloor contributed to what was such an incredible night!

The Mid Week Mix is a series that we started during lockdown 1.0 as an opportunity to share on a weekly bases - mixes that resonate with the sound of our events. Something to break up the week and get you grooving toward the weekend.

With Under The Lamp back up and running this year, we want to continue the Mid Week Mix - each time bringing you a live recording of the performances experienced at each one of our events.

Today, we present Mad Lucas' performance from The Journey - Under The Lamp. Opening up shop, Mad Lucas treated us to an uplifting and soothing set, full of warm energy!

This week's Mid Week Mix comes from our very own residents, The Regulators. 

Always a crowd favourite, The Regulators' sets combine melodic techno, progressive house, grungy baselines and dance floor classics - all whipped up into the perfect late night storm. 

This particular recording comes from their most set at The Journey - Under The Lamp and gives a great insight into the kind of music you can expect when we return to Loop Project Space and Bar on July 24 for Doshpot - Under The Lamp.

This is the recording from when The Regulators closed up shop after Bongani - Under The Lamp at our most recent event.

The atmosphere was electric all the way through to 5am and it definitely marks a highlight in the Under The Lamp series so far. 

We’re stoked to let you know that we have another round for you. Next Saturday, The Regulators will be closing up shop again, this time after Miza goes Under The Lamp!

For today’s Mid Week Mix, we are pleased to bring you a live recording from our most recent Under The Lamp event. 

Opening up the floor for what was an incredible night, we had Nicolette a.k.a Vena Cava treat us to an outstanding performance. 

The opening slot is by far one of the most important slots of the night in our eyes. To set the pace and build tension for the night to come. Keep the energy at bay but give people a little taste here and there, of the chunky sounds they are all so eager to hear. 

Vena Cava did just that and it’s safe to say that this was one of our favourite opening sets ever performed at Under The Lamp. 

We want to say a big thank you to Vena and we hope you all enjoy listening back to the set as a teaser of what’s coming in just 9 days time when we open up shop for Le’bruh - Under The Lamp.

It's that time of the week once again where we aim to help you dust off the post-weekend blues as you begin the process of limbering up ready for more weekend debauchery in just a couple of days' time. Tonight we have a recording from our event before last that we know you’ve been waiting to listen back to.

The Mid Week Mix series aims to give you a little taste test of what can be expected at one of The Sound Project’s events and Fosta’s recording from his warm up set for Miza - Under The Lamp absolutely slaps!!

It’s been a little over 2 weeks since our last Under The Lamp and to say Le’bruh blew the roof off during his headline set is nothing short of an understatement. 

Since then, we’ve received so many requests asking for the live recording, that it didn't feel right to make you wait any longer!!

Le’Bruh is a master of his art. His ability to switch seamlessly between genres, captivating the attention of his audience is an expertise that only years of execution can achieve. 

So sit up, strap in and enjoy two hours of brilliance from Le'bruh - Under The Lamp.

Today we are releasing a throwback Under The Lamp set!

As this time of year marks the anniversary of when it happened, we are throwing back to last years incredible performance from Doshpot - Under The Lamp.

Playing to a sold out dancefloor, Doshpot treated us to an immersive set featuring live instruments, which was a heap of fun and remains in our minds as one of our favourite Under The Lamp performances to date.

Playing to a sold out crowd, Ebony & BINI treated us to an incredible performance combining each of their styles and sounds together to create a unique and memorable experience. 

Many moments throughout the night are cemented in our minds as great memories of one of the best Under The Lamp events to date.

Ebony Willis b2b BINI - Under The Lamp - 19.11.2022 (1am - 3am)

Brenton Chan played for us back in May 2022 when he warmed up the floor before Bongani went Under The Lamp. 

To say the floor was warm, is a massive understatement. His performance took some of our extended family completely by surprise and we still have some of those same people talking about his set to this day. For those people, we have something for you at the end of this post.

We’ve got a Mid Week Mix for you this week as we look all the way back to September last year and the event Le’bruh - Under The Lamp. 

Warming up before Le’bruh, our resident duo The Regulators played a set we’ve been very much looking forward to reliving!

This set features The Regulators’ usual style whilst leaning toward housier sounds which made for a lot of fun, especially given it was one half of the duo - Tawanda’s birthday. 

We had a blast that night, a great time listening back and we hope you enjoy the recording just as much as we do!

The Regulators @ Under The Lamp - 24.09.22

For this week's Mid Week Mix, we look to November last year and to our final event at Loop: Ebony Willis b2b BINI - Under The Lamp. 

On the all-important opening slot we had Tura! 

Having followed Tura for some time beforehand, we were looking forward to having her involved in Under The Lamp. But even with such anticipation, Tura well and truly exceeded our expectations! 

With a progressive and melodic style full of rhythm and emotion, Tura perfectly set the pace for the night to follow and we had a great time boogieing to her set. 

We didn't know it at the time, but this would be the last ever event at Loop before they closed the ground floor the following month. Whilst we were sad to see the venue go, we couldn't be happier with the final event we had to see it off, and Tura's opening set is a contributor to this being the case.

This week, we're happy to be releasing the first of the live recordings from our front room takeover at Revolver on Good Friday Eve the month before last. 

Good friend of The Sound Project, Tom Roberts made his debut Revolver performance and set the pace for an amazing night. He slotted right into place, filling the room with energy and making selections that nicely complimented our Revolver showcase. That night was our favourite takeover collab yet and that's a credit to Tom for his contribution.

Thank you once again to Tom for this set and thank you to everyone that joined us that night. That was something else, we had a blast!

At our most recent Day Party on Circus Rooftop, all of our TSP residents The Regulators, Ezra & Spyke went b2b2b for 3 hours to open up and kick off the day. 

Showcasing the lighter end of our sound including deep house, afro and progressive, this was a great way to start off what was an incredible Day Party! 

On July 29th, our TSP residents will be going b2b2b again to open up the day - this time for an extended 4 hour set. 

This is an intimate event. There are only 100 tickets available. On sale at 12pm next Wednesday July 5th.
