"Classic Trance". It's such a commonly used label these days especially when it comes to genres, mixes, DJs etc. What is also common in a "classics" mix is the consistent repetition of tunes featured. You've all heard those same tracks on your most recent mixes several times over and whilst we're in lockdown, you also discovered that you heard those very same tunes on a mix CD, 20+ years ago!!! 

Tune selection really is an art and in order to get it right, it requires significant preparation and having the right amount of ingredients. I had a lot of fun rediscovering material for this mix and personally, it has always been about the journey. Therefore, variety is required to aid the listeners on their nostalgic fix with a torrent of dancefloor destroyers to those forgotten treasures which were unfortunately overshadowed at the time.

For the next 3 hours, I'm going to give you all a taste of how I would best define proper, Classic Trance music and it's safe to say that classics shouldn't be confined to just the "bangers". We're going to delve deep and it'll get emotional as we explore different tempos, styles and moods in this first volume.

The Space Brothers are one of the U.K.'s most successful trance acts, notching up a succession of club and chart hits. Ricky Simmonds and Stephen Jones have also been the driving force behind other major artists including Lustral, Chakra, Oxygen, The Realm, Essence, Force Majeure and Ascension. 

Since The Space Brothers formed their first project - Chakra - they have released over 100 singles with independent and major labels including Virgin, Perfecto, Ministry Of Sound, Hooj Choons, East West, Ultra, Sony, Captivating Sounds, Xtravaganza and Warner Bros.
