Reach began his DJ-career in the beginning of 1992 playing at Tumult in Abcoude. Tumult was known for being one of the few clubs that programmed house music in the beginning of the 90’s. 

He quickly gained recognition for his unique style and energetic performances, which often blended different genres of music, including house, disco, and acid. In the 1990s he played at different clubs and festivals in the Netherlands like Mazzo, Paradiso and Melkweg. 

Throughout his career he continued to inspire and entertain audiences with his DJ sets and passion for music. By doing this Reach remained a beloved figure in the underground scene of Amsterdam.

Reach I The Square Sun Sessions #22

Vrøge is nestled in the vibrant city of Utrecht where he is spreading music that will make your hips shake while having a massive smile on your face. Ever since he was little boy music has played a prominent role in his life. Starting of playing the keys in a band, but over the last couple years he realized that turning some nobs is much more fun to do. During those same years he found himself enjoying all types of music. However, what really sets his soul in fire is a record with a killer horn section. 
The mix put together with recent discoveries showcasing what he loves the most.


Vrøge top 3:
Merchant - Tumble Down
One of the best of his generation with a troubling but interesting life in which he luckily came in touch with music and made some superb records. The flow and energy of this, in which the horns are perfectly placed in between all other interesting sounds, makes it in my opinion his best work.

Tim Maia - O Descobridor Dos Sete Mares
All-time favourite, those horns in the beginning gives me goosebumps every time and that in combination with that with that amazing voice of Tim Maia makes it just the perfect tune.

Tabanka Djaz - Lisa Cherry
Incredible band from Guinea-Bissau that I recently discovered. Especially their more energetic records containing super interesting rhythms and again some astonishing horn sections. Much more to be discoverd from the musical landscape of Guinea-Bissau

Boyd V is a music fanatic with a love for funk, boogie, disco, and electronic music from all corners of the world. Being based in Amsterdam and surrounded by a lot of good record stores, this mix consists of some recent finds, one home-made production and a few personal favourites like Jolley & Swain – Soul Street, creating a nice blend of different genres. 

Boyd V’s top 3:
1. Lis’a – Mich’e – Absolutely amazing house track I found recently. Case of love at first listen!
2. Alexis Laik – Danse, Danse, Danse – French funk record. Soft but beautiful. I love a good French synth-pop/disco/boogie record, and this is one of my favourites. It has got a nice instrumental version as well. 
3. Arthur Russel - In the Light – super deep jazz-funk track. A thirteen-minute journey into sound. Arthur Russel is an amazing artist, who unfortunately passed away at a young age (40). However, his musical legacy of beautiful music like this track remains for us to enjoy.

Capra has an intrinsic devotion to resurrect the primal era of dance and clubbing music. With a distinct focus on music from the first part of the nineties, he strives to create melancholic trips with a raw edge. Contrary to his usual approach, this set tries to achieve the same but in a less club-oriented way. Less 4x4, more experimental sounds. Enjoy it while having a coffee and have a little dance (but don't let them notice)!
