Originally from Argentina but based in Barcelona for the past decade, Joaquin Recalde (@joaquin-recalde) has firmly established his sonic identity within the city's vibrant music scene. With a solid foundation built behind the decks at Laut and a residency at Switch Pocket Club alongside Sergi Deckard - where vinyl takes center stage - he has honed his craft, using DJing as both an exploration and a form of expression. Guided by a deep affinity for captivating frequencies, his musical journey is one of constant evolution.

Tangela’s style of aural storytelling is as distinct as it is varied. She guides the listener through deep, subby, subterranean worlds, encouraging listeners to float up through spacious, textural soundscapes full of unexpected turns, all with a nimble and playful touch. Tangela’s meteoric rise through the underground scene finds its origins in her late night radio show ‘citrus’ on Eora / Sydney’s iconic FBi radio 94.5FM, currently in its fourth year of broadcasting all things “squelchy, wobbly, gooey, twisty”. Her signature style has translated from the airwaves to dance floors across many of Australia’s cult clubs, DIY warehouses and bush raves, including her own as founder of both dstreet and Minutiae Festival. A name impossible to ignore in Australia, Tangela’s sound has been shared internationally via Boiler Room, Future Intel, Lyl Radio, Refuge Worldwide and more.

Versatility is her strength. Equally in her element slowly building though chuggy downtempo, wiggy tek, and dubby breaks as she is whirling through percussive techno, minimal psy and floaty trance. Her sound is undeniably psychedelic, & one with deep connection to the Australian bush she soundtracks so regularly. Organic textures transport you to moments stomping in leafy clearings, hazy morning rays poking through the gumtrees, alongside thumping kicks drenched in subby, dubby, gurgling undertones.

The long-awaited 55th episode of the kkum Podcast returns with a 57-minute ambient DJ set from HVL, based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

First coming to attention as a member of Okinawa Lifestyle duo in 2009, Bassiani/Horoom resident Gigi Jikia a.k.a HVL has become a leading voice of thriving techno movement centered around Tbilisi club scene. Since starting solo career in 2013, HVL was busy exploring more diverse range of genres and styles. His solo releases which have appeared on underground outposts like Bassiani Records, Rough House Rosie, Tabernacle Records and Organic Analogue, have testified to taste that’s also reflected in his Live performances and DJ sets.
The outstanding debut Ostati LP on Organic Analogue Records (2018), intended as a manuscript of the sound of Tbilisi, is a seductive update on the established HVL’s dynamics, centered on outboard house and techno with a noticeably understated mood.
As HVL’s reputation as a solo artist grows, so does his status as a selector and DJ. Jikia has taken his skillfully crafted Live shows and DJ sets to new heights in 2018, hitting up some of the best dancefloors in the world from Berghain and Hï Ibiza to infamous Berlin Atonal.

We’re delighted to share another great chapter of our Herbarium mix series, this time recorded by @reasphere! 🌸 It’s a journey full of gems from which you can sense that they have been waiting for the right opportunity to pop out in a very special story. Minimalistic yet trippy and deep compositions with very few but perfectly on point placed elements. rea chose Colobanthus Quitensis (also known as the Antarctic pearlwort) as inspiration for his mix.

Here's a little backstory by rea about his choice:
“It’s the the most southern species growing in Patagonia and Southern Antarctica.
Even above the polar circle it’s sometimes too hot for the plant to survive - similar to the selected music it needs a very specific setting and mood to unfold its power.
Enjoy the sharp resilience.”
