To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

The Labyrinthの20周年を記念して、過去10年間を振り返り、それぞれの年からひとつのミックスをピックアップすることにしました。イベントの歴史を記録すると同時に、過去10年間のアンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの歴史的なスナップショットを提供します。今聞いても色褪せない、タイムレスな極上のミックスをお楽しみください。

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

Sons Of Hidden is a concept that encompasses artists from different fields of art that surround contemporary electronic music.

Everything we see is a reflection of what is in higher dimensions, everything is a Fractal. The universe is like a mirror that reflects what is on other planes of Consciousness, and these are all intertwined. Let's emulate each other until that we reach the maximum of consciousness, the maximum of perfection. Everything is mirrors parallels, parallel dimensions, and a dimension is a state of consciousness. 
Depending on the degree of vibration of each person is disappearing in the other, until constituting that harmonious whole, being his point of Manifestation denser or lower, matter, and the higher, the spirit.
First the Physical Plane, according to the Mental Plane, And third, the Spiritual Plane.

Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong willed and motivated person now based in Amsterdam with Istanbul as hometown. These aspects have brought her to the position she stands as an artist today. Music has been a lifelong priority. She started at the Mersin Fine Arts High School Music Department where she studied classical piano and cello. She continued her professional music career at Ondokuz Mayıs University where she has successfully graduated from the Department of Music.

Her career as a dj/producer started soon after and is why she decided to move to Amsterdam. She favors the ethnic, groovy and dark side of techno that drives you through the night. Her broad education of music can be heard in her music productions where she meticulously experiments withs sounds to produce her signature sound. In her performances she has a determined mindset to create a complete sensory experience

There are DJs, then there are DJs who capture—and live—a moment in dance music's evolution. Born in Los Angeles, but based in New York for the better half of a decade, Akua has established herself as the latter, an important voice in the North American techno scene. Akua's DJing practice is fueled by her research in the '90s techno music archive, with a special interest in the history and roots of techno within America. 

Akua's sets are raw extensions of the foundations laid by the pioneers of '90s U.S. techno. Most prominently, the work and influence of DJs like Jeff Mills, Claude Young and Jay Denham can all be heard across her mixes, as well as the spirit of Underground Resistance. Her interest in fast-paced techno comes from these traditions as well as own individualist streak—while there's no shortage of DJs who play high-BPM techno, you won't hear anyone else play it quite like she does.

Her old-school meets new-school sound has catapulted her from the New York underground into the European techno circuit, where recent gigs have seen her perform at dance music institutions like Berghain and Dekmantel. Akua's RA Podcast is her in full-throttle mode, featuring all the stripped-down, hypnotic groove of early techno aside rushes of searing acid, carefully speeding up until closing at a healthy sprint.

Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong-willed and motivated DJ and Producer living in Amsterdam, originally from Istanbul. Music has been a huge priority her whole life: she graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University with a degree in Music Education / Conservatory, most specifically with the cello and piano as her main instruments. During the early days of her career, she started producing and DJing in Istanbul before she decided to move to Amsterdam in 2019 to pursue her vocation as a techno talent.

Within electronic music, Beste Hira identifies with the hypnotic, fast paced and dark side of techno. Her extensive musical training can be heard throughout her music production and DJ sets, where she meticulously experiments with sounds to produce her signature, and, most importantly, having an incredibly accurate intuition allows her to play out of her comfort zone and surprise some of the most challenging crowds.

Her knowledge and experience as an artist have allowed her to grow in Amsterdam's eclectic underground scene, supported by key Amsterdam-based crews such as Orphic (who invited her to become a resident at their events series), DeSchool and the famous Vault Sessions, as well as playing at the Netherland's most renowned festivals, such as Awakenings, Amsterdam Dance Event, Amsterdam Open Air and the upcoming The Third Room, to name a few. Beste's presence in Europe is growing rapidly, especially after playing several times at the mighty Berghain and other top notch clubs in capitals like Vienna, Madrid and Paris.

Chris Liebing is synonymous with techno. His legacy is long assured, but his craft never stops evolving. Whether as label head, podcast curator, DJ or producer, he continues to challenge himself and his audience to explore new realms in the electronic world. And often ahead of the curve, too, from the early, hard-edged and loopy 90s sound which is back en vogue today, through his more stripped-back turn of the millennium minimalism and onto the cinematic atmospheres and broader alternative electronica of his latest albums on Mute. It's no stretch to say, then, that Chris Liebing's story is closely connected to the story of techno itself.

Esta es mi tercera temporada conociendo a Phase y mi segunda como residente, lo que me pone muy contento. Si sois habituales me habreis visto haciendo cosas con las maquinas (solo o con R010) o bailando en la pista, y como es la segunda temporada de residente, para agradecer la confianza que han depositado en mi los chavales, prometo traer el doble de baile y de sonidos interdimensionales (certificado ante notario).

Este verano no he pisado una playa pero he descubierto unas galaxias todavía desconocidas dentro de mis cacharros, en las que he encontrado cosas muy raras que tengo muchas ganas de enseñar.

Para esta ocasion especial, vamos con dos tazas de live. Aqui os lo dejo, para cuando tengais 8 horas muertas, la grabación de mi directo para Suburban Alliance el pasado mes de Mayo.

Por si a algun friki como yo le interesa, info extra acerca de este live. Para este set empecé desde el primer proyecto con el que vine a Madrid hasta llegar a las secuencias más nuevas. Las primeras 2 horas tienen partes de unas grabaciones que hice para mi TFM, mezcladas con improvisacion con la Swarm, las siguientes 3 horas aproximadamente son parte del live de 2020-2021 con retoques que hice las semanas previas, y las horas restantes son parte del live de la temporada pasada. Normalmente entre fecha y fecha he hecho muchas secuencias nuevas, asi que para el final de la temporada el proyecto queda bastante extenso.

Es el live mas especial que he hecho, y la verdad es que aunque terminé agotado, la sensacion de poder hacer lo que quisiera sin preocupaciones fue una pasada, así que mas pronto que tarde espero poder repetir este formato, os esperare a todas alli entonces!

Biography

One of the leading names in Paris’ contemporary scene, Zadig is one of the main forces responsible for the return of the City of Light to worldwide prominence as a centre for forward-looking techno. A participant in the’90s French rave scene in the hardcore and acid days, Sylvain Peltier found his true inspiration with the arrival of Mills, Surgeon, and Beltram and labels like Tresor, Lost, and Synewave and the techno that his style remains rooted in to this day. After moving to Paris in the mid-2000s, Zadig became quickly involved in the beginnings of what would become the present-day Parisian upswing, making an early release in 2006 as Day is Dying on the Rouen-based Euro Visions label. In 2009 he returned, this time as Zadig and this time to stay, quickly forging a relationship with the important Syncrophone label and distributor in Paris.

There has not been any looking back since, and as Paris’ techno scene continues to rise from the ashes of the early 2000s to the vibrant, world-recognized heights it now occupies, Zadig has made essential contributions to this ascendancy. Starting in 2011, he launched his Construct Re-Form label, which has gone on to a residency at the legendary Rex Club and continues to debut and support bracing new French talent like Antigone, Voiski, Birth of Frequency, and Zadig himself. His own discography also continues to grow, with releases on the reknown Deeply Rooted House in 2013, the New York-based Chronicle, Children of Tomorrow, and continued support from Syncrophone, as well as compilation appearances on Tresor, Reclaim Your City, and Studio R. As Zadig’s reputation as a leader in the French scene has spread, he has gone on to play numerous dates around Europe, with appearances in Berghain and a deepening relationship with Tresor, at both Concrete and the Weather festival in Paris, and worldwide in New York and Argentina, alongside scene-leading contemporary talent and legends like Scion, Rodhad, Peter van Hoesen, DVS1, Inigo Kennedy, Samuli Kemppi, Jonas Kopp, Johannes Volk, Shifted, Lucy, and many more. 2015 saw the debut of his Unforeseen Alliance live collaborative project with label mates Voiski, Antigone, and Birth of Frequency, all of whom have moved on to increasing success as both Zadig and Construct Re-Form have gained recognition.

With Paris’ resurgent club scene blossoming to worldwide attention not seen since the ’90s, it is the dedicated efforts of those like Sylvain Peltier who have helped to bring about this revival and continue to lead it to new heights. As Zadig, as a label head, as a DJ, and as a central fgure in its continued growth, he is an essential fgure in its present and a leading light for its future.
