Desde su aparición, el proyecto ha sido a menudo etiquetado como “pitch black techno war funk“  (citado después de una reseña inicial de Boomkat) y estrechamente asociado a lo que más tarde sería etiquetado como el movimiento "tecno industrial". Esto posiblemente se deba a la estética radical de la máquina que Ancient Methods ha convertido en un sonido característico inconfundible desde hace más de una década. Aunque el marco mecánico sea -ni más ni menos- un embajador físico de un contenido más profundo, hay una profunda emocionalidad humana encerrada en la coraza rítmica.

Since its emergence the project the has been often labelled as “pitch black techno war funk“ (quoted after an early Boomkat review) and closely associated to what later on would be tagged as the “industrial techno“ movement. This is possibly due to the radical machine aesthetics Ancient Methods has developed into an unmistakable trademark sound, since more than a decade. However the mechanical framework is - no more, no less - a physical ambassador for a deeper content, there is a profound human emotionality enclosed in the rhythmic shell.
