Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Carlos Alsina-Batista (chuk888) played guitar professionally in various rock and pop bands in the island before putting music temporarily aside for a law career in 2004. As a training musician, he studied classical guitar and jazz, playing in various ensembles in those settings in the 90s and early 2000s. With love for folk, protest music, hard rock, grunge and the blues, chuk888’s compositions vary much in style and mood. And his re-incursion into music after 20 years entails a much different soundscape to explore…
