LEEU (@leeu88) is a South African music producer and live performer who takes influence from a wide variety of traditional South African sounds, musical genres and instruments while using electronic music as a vehicle to keep music alive from musical cultures that are rapidly being forgotten in a more modern society. There is an inherent rebellion against complacency and prescribed expectation in Leeu's approach to making music. In a career where substance far outweighs expanse, Leeu has managed to garner his impact to full effect. Every performance strikes a balance between sheer escapist euphoria and deftly curated live showcases of the depth that is intricate and tells stories of his personal dimensions in music, characteristics that have raised his art above the din, nurtured admiration amongst his peers and welcomed him on to the stages of the most prestigious clubs and venues both locally and internationally.
