We are a 6 piece band based in the centre of chorlton, we have been together collectively for one year. In such a short time we have strived to play our music for as many people as possible, from small gigs such as The Thirsty Scholar, to reasonably large sized crowds at beech road festival. Every member of the band works exceedingly hard at creating music, but more importantly, enjoying music as ...it is our joint passion. Towards the back end of last year we recorded our demo at astar studios. This was a learning curve and has given us something to promote.
Our genre of music is hard to describe as we don’t quite know ourselves, I think we convey a lot different styles very well, whilst also having our own perspective on song writing. Upbeat and happy with an indie/rock base would be the most comfortable label. Having fun and expressing ourselves is paramount to the band’s existence. Hopefully this is portrayed in our music.

Motion Empire are an English Alt-Rock/Indie Band that formed in Chester in May 2011.

Having been in previous musical projects either together or apart for around 7 years, Motion Empire came together in May 2011 with a passion for music and playing live. Since then using a wide variety of musical influences and connections, they have gigged in well over 20 different venues and events throughout Wales and the North West.

Motion Empire a 3 piece band from the Chester area, combine Rock and indie elements perfectly, with the upbeat catchy melodies of indie music and the big riffs of the rock world. The blend of alternative rock and indie rock sound comes from Ben Lee on guitar and vocals, John Hall on bass and Mark French on drums and vocals, all combining to make one awesome wall of energy and sound.

The band has gradually expanded their sound to include a variety of genres, and are continuously expanding their song repertoire with a mixture of amazing originals and creative covers.

There has to be a point where disillusionment turns into action. 

For The Unstoppable Team, that time came late in the summer of 2007. Surveying a Manchester music scene left fractured, flat and frozen in time by years of self-cannibalisation and regurgitation, the band acted to distance themselves from the legions of uninspiring bands plaguing the city. 

They parted ways with their lead singer and started to work with a talented MC, forging a fresh new sound along the way. The inventively incongruous melding of indie ideals with 21st century beat poetry set tongues wagging around the city, famed for its pioneering spirit. 

Before long – after just one gig, actually – the band were invited to play with The Mitchell Brothers in Manchester & one of the North West’s top unsigned night, The Aftershow, which is already gaining a reputation for turning up some of the freshest talent the region has seen in years. 

The collision of the band’s various musical influences makes for an exciting, embracing new sound. They may have carved out their own niche, but the massive crossover appeal of tracks like ‘Get Back’, with its crowd-pleasing, skyscraper-sized refrain, is undeniable. 

Passionately-delivered lyrics, by turns heartfelt and full of attitude, sit atop churning guitars and bone-bothering bass and drums. As The Unstoppable Team’s wall of sound hits you, the feeling that something monumental is happening becomes harder to shake. 

Tipped for great things by BBC Manchester, Elliot Eastwick, and The Daily Telegraph  – who filmed a special acoustic set with the band at last year’s Glastonbury festival, where they also kicked up a plugged-in riot on stage; with frenzied gigs at local venues as well as a memorable appearance at Manchester’s Pride festival (narrowly averting a stampede when The Unstoppable Team CDs were launched into the crowd); and their first single tipped for release early spring, the band look set to be huge. 

Now is the time to get involved. Now is the time for action.

His talents as a DJ, Remixer and DJ for the MULTI PLATINUM selling band Texas have taken him far and wide around the globe. His musical style is diverse enough to offer a fusion of Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, House, Tech House, Jackin House, NU Disco, which are reflected in both his DJ sets and his remixes.
At the early age of 13 Mark got interested in DJ’ing after witnessing a former DMC UK Mixing Championship Finalist practicing, after a few years of practicing himself he went on to be the UK Northwest Mixing Champion in a number of competitions in 1991,1992,1993 & 1995.

During this period Mark co-produced a number of radio shows in the Manchester area. Not satisfied with just being a competitive DJ and a radio presenter Mark switched his mixing skills to night clubs, Dj’ing at many high profile club events in the UK and eventually expanding to many venues around the world, including most of the high profile festivals throughout Europe. Since that time Mark has played alongside a large number of high profile DJ’s - Grandmaster Flash, Judge Jules, The Prodigy, Fat Boy Slim, Freestylers, Ninja Tunes, Goldie, Scratch Perverts) Mark was the supporting DJ for Madonna at the Brixton Academy.

Since then Mark has remixed a large number of high profile artists (J.lo, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Dr Dre, Destiny’s Child) and achieved a show reel many would be impressed with. Mark has recently had releases on Stoney Boy Music alongside Stonebridge, Olav Basoski, Ron Carroll, Todd Terry, Kathy Brown, and has featured on Roger Sanchez Release Yourself Show. Co-Owner of Anything House (Rough Moose Records) with his production partner SuGa. 

DJ Mark One’s Pitch Kontrol Radio Show features guest mixes from some of the worlds biggest DJs and is syndicated to 83 countries around the world.
