There are few things we at TheUntz.com enjoy more than being some of the first insightful folks to get on board with fresh new artists. That's kinda why we invented Fresh Beatz in the first place. Today, we premiere the title track from Late Night Radio's Far Into The Night, slated for an August 14th release. Alex Medellin has been a key figure of late in the Mountain Music scene. Collabs and projects with Robotic Pirate Monkey and a string of dates forthcoming on Michal Menert's Space Jazz tour have put Late Night Radio in the spotlight amongst a Denver scene teeming with talent. What sets him apart is his dogmatic devotion to "emotion over energy," as he puts it. Soul-drenched vocalists moan and belt heartbreaking lyrics across a decidedly hip-hop backbeat. And it's also his penchant for old-school beats that have made him a popular figure in the Colorado pool. His headlining date at Cervantes August 15th for the album's release with Artifakts, Krooked Drivers, and Marvel Years is sure to seal that one up tight.

And on October 9th, when Release is... well... released, the electronic music industry will once again give the man his due and admit, "yup, there's only one Random Rab."

Today, we're thrilled to bring you the title track from the new album. The term "downtempo" belies the majesty, the utter mystical energy of a Rab tune. There's power and poise, subtlety and grace. The sheer intensity of a hypnotizing groove and his cool, crisp vocals carry more force than a thousand blaring subs rattling out the hardest bass grooves. The charts and charts of electronic dance singles can't measure up to the unfathomably deep intention this type of tune evokes. There's just nothing like a new Rab tune. This one is going to be on repeat.

Smash The Funk

Mad Liberation is a collection of songs that I have been working on for the past year that ranged from mostly original compositions to varied sample work (retro vinyl recordings and new all original recordings); digital synthesis that took me weeks to master; to live instrumentation tediously and soulfully recorded by myself and some of my very good friends. 

This collection of noise - to me - became an album, a sound in a whole, an idea free from limits of thought and more an idea of the heart and soul. Mad Liberation is a piece of me that is representative of my past, breathes life into my present, and is a taste of the future. 

I don't have fancy recording equipment, amazing speakers, crazy keyboards, complicated sample packs, proper studio time, cutting edge midi controllers, or outboard mixing gear. 

What I do have is an endless imagination of the future/now, unrelenting will, constant fascination, and a heart that has no capacity to stop loving and trying. 

This business - when you boil it down - is not about the machine, but about the man. Even electronic music is humanistic. We breath life into these dead things to make them whisper and ROAR!! I am inspired by that fact, and this is what sets me free.

Le festival qui a su s’imposer comme le rendez vous estival de la culture électro fête cette années ses dix ans ! L’occasion d’expérimenter de nouvelles envies, tout en restant fidèle aux valeurs et atouts qui ont fait son succès. Fidèles, les organisateurs œuvrent pour un retour aux sources en réinvestissant les Jardins de la Fontaine, site historique qui a vu naître leur projet. Ambitieux, en proposant un plateau artistique à la fois riche, pointu et alléchant.

Le pape de la tech house, l’argentin Barem viendra marquer la soirée de son emprunte musicale : basses puissantes et mélodies envoutantes pour un set sombre et hypnotique. Plus chaleureux, Miguel Campbell nous plongera dans la hype de Hot Creation, les pieds dans l’eau direction Ibiza avec des hits deep house, ondulations garanties. Techno froide et industrielle pour The Hacker, dont la collaboration avec Gesaffelstein marque son grand retour sur les scènes des clubs et festivals les plus en vue. Nhar viendra également nous chahuter les oreilles et les corps avec un live planant entre deep house et cold wave, forcément grisant.  Pour compléter ce plateau international, l’association Woh lab convie les dj’s issus de la scène électro Sud florissante. Les figures de proues des petits matins électro, résidents du légendaire Bar Live Cebb & Sandy viendront présenter en live  leur nouveau projet « Between us ». À leurs côtés, celui qui multiplie les dj’s sets outre Manche, Laurent Wild viendra enchainer ses plus grands hits nu disco. Aux manettes de tubes pop, productions techno et hits house, Greg Delon. Celui qui s’amuse à nous porter vers des  contrées underground sait aussi bien composer la bande son d’un été pétillant.  À la fois fondateurs de Woh Lab et du festival Animé, il était donc naturel que Greg Delon vienne souffler les bougies derrière les platines, accompagné de Mister K.

Effervescence musicale au programme de ce dixième anniversaire d’Animé, qui transformera les Jardins de la fontaine en dancefloor géant !
