Origin: From the Latin ‘id est’ 
Meaning: in other words 

What happens when we separate the idea of artist and their music from their person? Are we able to connect with music more, or less, when it’s presented on a blank canvas? 

This was the concept behind i.e., the new musical project from an anonymous Sydney artist, who wanted to literally present his music and craft ‘in other words’. 

While many know or have identified the man behind i.e., the idea was always to reveal as little as possible about himself and his image to present the purest listening experience, without bias or preconceived notions. 

With various musical projects under his belt, i.e. is not this artist’s first foray into music. Drawing on experience writing and performing variations of hip hop, pop, dance and indie rock for himself and other artists, i.e.’s sound is eclectic, but deeply rooted in moody trap beats. Each release from ‘Put On’ to ‘Separated’ are darkly melodic, dripping with big bass and catchy hooks. 

A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, emcee, vocalist and producer, i.e. has spent the last decade developing his talent alongside friends and peers Dopamine, BLESSED, iam.solo and Manu Crook$ (all members of the same collective working out their studio in inner Sydney), and accumulating writing credits for artists of all genres. 

I.e. aims to represent the listener, becoming a faceless expression of experiences and feelings to relate to. Who he might be, and who he might not be is not the point.

After nearly a five year hiatus from releasing music, Dirty Science, All natural Inc. hip hop alum ADaD is prepared to release “Danger Us’”, an ep produced by Chicago’s own Tensei. The six song EP Is a super fresh example of contemporary hip hop. Mostly produced using live instrumentation, Tensei enlisted the skills of some elite Chicago Natives, such as Makaya McCraven (International Anthem), Greg Spero (Halsey) , Yaw Ageyman, Kiara Lanier (American Idol), and Wes Restless. The organic swing of the drums… the full string sections, live pianos and vocal assists all lay the foundation for an MC who knows how to command a composition. In the vein of the Great Black Thought, who is also featured on the project, Adad weaves his voice in and out of each track with a grown man’s comfort and resolve…. Fueled with the same hunger he had as the day he started. Its one of those things you have to hear to understand, one of those projects that's not quite like any other but evokes very familiar emotions for anyone whos been a long time fan of good beats and great lyrics. This project sets a high bar and an intention for quality output as ADaD plans to make 2018 his most productive year to date. Releasing on january 12th 2018, it will be the first page of a new chapter of a story that will ultimately be defined by greatness.
