I chose to cover 'Step Up' because I had a few interesting ideas for it; it took me a few goes to get down something that I felt good about. Kind of got stuck on what to do about halfway through the track and then realised 'Leaving Home' would make for a good twist. Kinda cathartic to just yell about shit in your room hey; never thought I'd ever do it but *shrugs*

Square Sounds Melbourne 2018 was lit. Calavera performed his new album Kinstugi and it's got all of the sounds I wanna make on a Gameboy... if I ever end up tracking with LSDJ. Having listened to the album on repeat in the months afterwards, I found myself craving one thing: speed. So I played around with the melodies at 130+ bpm, created a few demos, and then let it sit for about 2 years. COVID depression has pushed me to do many things to keep sane, and finishing this off this is one of them.
