New York City disco party freaks @kaviardiscoclub Club are planning to inject their flavor into the vinyl game. The label (which shares the same branding as the event collective) is kicking things off with a four track V/A showcasing cuts from Philly and NYC based producers, including @JacquesRenault of Let's Play House (@lphnyc) fame, as well as Matpat, Evan Michael and co-founder Higgins (@higginsaudio). The imprint - both for this release and going forward - aims to curate slick, New York style disco vibes from regional producers.

For today's premiere, we take on Jacques' "You're Gonna Want Me Back". It's NYC disco all the way, with the neat edit of Delia Renee brandishing a silky string section and funky bass and guitar licks reminiscent of late 70's/early 80's disco/postdisco jams (think Solar and Prelude). Renault bumps the tempo and bolsters the drums to a house-ier fit for his flip, cleverly teasing in vocals while maintaining extended instrumental sections as the focus. It's a tasty cut that's sure to sit nicely as a later night groover.

The remainder of the EP is equally solid. Matpat's soulful "Searchin'" rounds out the A-Side with a vibey and cleverly-chopped arrangement suited for warm, breezy evenings. On the flip, Evan Michael takes things to boogie territory with "Just Like That". A mean bassline gets looped and filtered nicely before bringing the disco house arrangement into full swing, with vocal snips and saxophone being sprinkled smartly on. Label bossman Higgins handles closing duties on the record via "Goodtimes", a groovy clav and synth-led slammer with an irresistible electroboogie bassline.

All four edits on the release are expertly orchestrated for maximum effect on the dancefloor. If you're looking for well-curated, feel-good and beefy four to the floor jams: well, you've found the right record. KDC001 hits stores March 6th at an array of major vinyl retailers. Jump on it!

This time COEO get back in time. They destroyed a couple of 1970ies disco jams. Recut & repasted them. And gave them their special COEO touch. Of course it’s irresistible! 
This release comes on vinyl only first. Later maybe could be out on selected Digital sellers.. not sure yet.

COEO are Toy Tonics' lead artists and they don’t joke ! Technically perfect on a level that most producers start to get jealous. Musically filled up with so much knowledge about the history of Disco and House that it’s no wonder that big names like Kenny Dope, Borrowed Identity and Tensnake are huge fans. And their style...? It’s a pure hedonistic discoish attitude that combines the funk driven eclecticism of today, the curiosity of young music cats who always want to be ahead and a sense of quality in music that we miss in so many of today's house music productions. In fact it’s 2017 and a lot is changing in the House scene. The "old" melancholic deep house now is quite dead - while most Deep House charts are filled up with sample based Funk House. COEO are regularly on the top of the several Deep House charts, and there is a reason : their tracks have that kind of new, nasty, sexualised vibe that gets more inspired from the late 1990ies French touch house or early Masters at Work production. From Jazz DJ’s and DJ Sets of wildstyle DJ’s like Harvey or the Idjut Boys. It’s not any more about the old schematic Ketamine Deep House that always sounds the same (and makes your feet fall asleep). Listen to Flesh World ! It’s black music basically. It’s Booty sound. New York based D.C. LaRue has been recording and performing since 1974 but it was his track “Cathedrals” in ’76 that really got him noticed amongst the heavy weight disco releases of the time.  The double A-side 12" single of "Cathedrals" was one of the earliest commercially available 12" singles and went on to hit number 1 on the Billboard Dance Music Club and Disco Single charts.

Subsequent singles “Overture” and “Indiscreet” both topped out at number 2 on the Billboard Dance Music Club charts and “Indiscreet” became an influential track in the hip hop sampling world.

Fast forward to the present day and armed with digital transfers of the original master tapes, Z Records has commissioned remixes of these classic tracks plus “Let Them Dance” and “Do You Want The Real Thing”.

Released over two limited edition picture sleeve 12’s pressed exclusively for Record Store Day 2018, the remixes come from Idjut Boys, Ron Basejam, Dr Packer, Folamour, JKriv and Joey Negro.
