Out from the Dark

This song reminds me of growing up in a small rural town in Wisconsin where there wasn't much to do. On Friday nights my family and I would stay up late, make a bag of popcorn and watch episodes of Star Trek, Stargate and Red Dwarf. Afterwards, a 10 minute segment of "Stargazer" on PBS would come on with Jack Horkheimer, and he would talk about what was currently happening in the movements of the planets and stars that week.  After we were done watching TV, we'd often go outside and sit by the campfire just to marvel. We lived seven miles out from town where, clear of any light pollution whatsoever, the stars were infinitely clear. If you laid on your back and stared up, it would feel like gravity could just give-way at any moment, and you would float infinitely into the abyss. 
A synth version of this song was used as the intro to "Stargazer", and it still leaves a powerful nostalgic impression in my mind, where a spooky (almost frightful) feeling of the vast, nothingness of space met a feeling of awe at how grand God's creation is.

I have no intentions of selling/profiting off this piece, as I had very little involvement in making it (other than putting a midi-file into VCVrack and doing some minor modulation), but I wanted to honor both Debussy and Jack Horkheimer and just share my awe for the stars.
