This volume pulls from material written as far back as the early 1990s and recontextualizes it through modern production, contemporary vocal treatment, and today’s emotional lens. These songs weren’t resurrected for nostalgia — they were refined, sharpened, and finally delivered the way they were always meant to be heard.
From the opening moments of “Break Free” — a love declaration born on a TASCAM four-track — to the closing clarity of “X Mind,” Vol. 6 moves effortlessly between funk, soul, satire, romance, social commentary, and reflection. Tracks like “Don’t Stop Y’all” hide cultural Easter eggs and political winks inside a bounce-heavy groove, while “Hero” questions myth, faith, and symbolism through a modern lens inspired by ancient history and pop culture.
