Live drums recorded in the Sidrat Studio, using 8 channels and 8 separate mics. Due to the small size of the room, there are limited options for further mic techniques, in particular ambient micing is impossible, just a pair of overheads, so artificial reverb needs to be added after recording, which is quite alright under some circumstances, but many tracks would benefit from the drums being recorded in a larger space.

Third Dart - Make You Try-Drums

This is 1 of 4 tracks recorded entirely in the Sidrat Studio over the course of 2 days; drums and bass on day 1, guitar and vocals on day 2. The kick drum was so large, we struggled getting it through the door, but we managed and it was worth it - it has a huge resonant booming decay, which was tricky to tame in the mix, but I think I managed to retain it, without it taking over the track.
