Chris Halen is a music-enthusiasist from Germany. Growing up in the former East Berlin, at 5 years old, Chris’ father introduced him to “black gold” - vinyl. From then on music would play a large role in his life. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Chris discovered the Berlin club scene. Starting with raves in Berlin youth clubs, and later in clubs such as the bunker, walfisch, e-werk, Halen was always fascinated by the DJ. Chris began to buy his own records in 1994 at Hardwax Berlin, and soon after that, organized his first parties in Berlin's "Dance School Schmidt" and the "Old Brewery". Chris turned away a bit from the electronic dance music scene in the late 90's and focused for short periods in other directions; he returned to the Berlin club scene in 2002. Since 2009, Chris has presented his podcast series “Berlin City Beats” to listeners on Mixcloud & Soundcloud. In 2014 Chris started his new podcast – CRUDEHOURZ - on Progressive Beats Radio. No genre rules - play what you like. From Electronica, to Deep House to Progressive House and Chill- out. Meanwhile, in the clubs, Chris Halen has shared the dj booth with people like Moodfreak, Sonic Union, Buddy Suwijn, Clay van Dijk, Erich Von Kollar or Jelly for the Babies.
