Shizuoka based producer, SONARUM aka S.O.N. has released “Dots To Groove” EP on Kyoto's NC4K as the fourth lot of the "Yellow" series.
Funky voice samples, glitchy sounds and thick bass intertwine on the first track 'Magic', a house track that represents a kind of alternative.
The second track, Turn the Light off, has a funky riff that repeats itself, but the pad sounds from the hardware give it an air of weirdness.
The remixers are South Korea-based international breakthrough Closet Yi and NC4K boss Stones Taro.Closet Yi's remix, with its strong bottom and more emphasis on the breakbeat, and Stones Taro's trancy interpretation of the original will both get you dancing on the dancefloor this year.

This EP showcases what Jordan does best: finding rare seductive forgotten gems, wisely sampling them through his MPC and giving them a new life through powerful breaks and groovy bass lines.

The 33rd in NC4K's main series is a collection of remixes of 'Earth Steps'.

Pee.J Anderson's original version, released on NC4K Collection vol 3, was such a hit at dance music festivals and boiler rooms that it has become an NC4K classic.

The EP features remixes by main label members Stones Taro, Genichiro, Paperkraft and Paperkraft's alias DJ Reverseweave.

Their remixes shed new light on the original. Will be played by more DJs.

Since Ladybug’s inception in 2019, he’s worked with acts like Altz, Mayurashka, Eden Burns, and most recently, Third Place's own Will Hofbauer on a split 12".

Kyoto-based NC4K, the imprint helmed by Stones Taro and Lomax, returns with a highly anticipated new release from fellow Kyoto residents, the producer/DJ duo Kross Section. Known for their signature blend of crisp, airy drums and captivating, hypnotic melodies, Kross Section deliver a quintessential groover.
The release is further amplified by a remix from NC4K head honcho Stones Taro himself. Diving deep into the sonic landscape of late 90s and early 2000s UK house, Stones Taro injects a distinctive edge with a prominent, rumbling Reese bassline.

Singapore-born, London-based producer yingtuitive introduces herself with Letters To Self 寫情書, a deeply personal debut LP arriving on Will Hofbauer’s Third Place.

A classically trained pianist whose musical identity draws from Southeast Asian traditions, electronic experimentation, and diasporic reflection, yingtuitive crafts soundscapes that feel both intimate and expansive. The project is accompanied by two stunning reworks from esteemed creators: South Korean ambient duo Salamanda, known for their lush, meditative textures, and US artist Tristan Arp, celebrated for his organic, shape-shifting productions.

Across eight original compositions, Letters To Self 寫情書 unfolds as a sonic diary, a search inward, a series of tender emotional missives to the self. Gamelan-inspired textures glimmer alongside field recordings captured in Singapore and the UK, while delicate, improvised piano passages echo memories of home. These elements intertwine with fragments of film samples and experimental electronics, resulting in tracks that glide through ambient, ethereal, and blissful terrains. It’s music that floats and envelops, as though nature itself had grown into sound, serene and rich in emotional resonance.

Written during a period of deep reflection, the album meditates on identity, homesickness, belonging, and the overwhelming noise of the world outside. Each piece feels like a still moment within chaos, a soft conversation between past and present selves, where harmony emerges from internal conflict. From angelic piano melodies to glitchy bursts of experimentalism, yingtuitive bridges her Singaporean roots and UK influences with blissful grace. Letters To Self 寫情書 marks not just a debut release, but the formation of a unique musical voice, gliding between cultural languages with honesty, vulnerability, and quiet strength.

It’s a way to start a conversation, to learn something about the person standing next to you in the crowd, to feel connected in a space where words are usually second to sound. Sakura Tsuruta is a Tokyo-based artist who mixes up dreamy melodies with potent, experimental grooves. Her 2019 debut on Bardo Records broke into Beatport’s Top 100, and since then, she has dropped her acclaimed ‘Made of Air’ EP and two well-received full-lengths on Mule Musiq and all my thoughts. Tsuruta is also an educator who works with international universities and conservatories and an activist who champions gender equality and nurtures young artists globally.
