We are a four piece Alternative Rock band from Scotland. Our EP "Dreams Make Up For Lost Time" is available from itunes, Spotify, Amazon, BandCamp and Soundcloud. We have been a band for eight years and continue to write songs and perform at venues in and around the Glasgow area.

Gerry Son & The Smokin’ Gun were formed in Stirling, Scotland in July 2019, by producers & multi instrumentalists Gerard McGlade (Gerry Son) & Roddy MacKenzie (Roddy Gun) with the collective passion for making dark, sexy, rock music that crosses genres, ages & races. They are joined live by bassist Aaron Hobkirk and drummer Riki Hobkirk & have received critical acclaim for their albums & live shows
"We want to make music to fill that void created by modern life", Gerry Son, 2019. 

They would describe their music as Alternative Rock or "Food for the Soul". The band are eclectic in their influence ranging from 60s Pop, Rock, Funk & Experimental. Their music is exciting and feel-good, packed with thought provoking lyrics often tounge-in-cheek humour & a message empowering to any listener who feels they don't have a voice. The band have previously cited The Beatles, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Kate Bush & Steely Dan amongst their favourite artists. 

Since their debut, Gerry Son & The Smokin’ Gun have become known for their sing-along anthems & wild energetic live performances, playing to audiences of thousands their repertoire of foot stomping, arena chanting songs.

As of Summer 2024 the band are currently recording their fourth album, the follow up to their 3rd Studio album, the highly acclaimed, Scottish Album of the year nominated “Gallus In Wonderland”.
