Google tells us that at the centre of the Earth the temperature can reach anywhere up to 4,400 degrees Celsius. Google also tells us that this new Kyle Watson release reaches temperatures that are even HIGHER than that! Here at BoC the sheer though of that is enough to get our moustaches just a little bit moist.

At his core (see what we did there?) Kyle Watson is without a doubt the drum wizard, layering the most peculiar sounds with his drums to create an organic feel that is unimaginable to most common folk. With drums being the main focus for this release, you know it's going to be something special. Spray on your best anti-perspirant before hitting play on Mammoth - you're bound to get a little hot under the collar as the howling lead guides you through this sample-based record. Wipe your brows and compose yourself because next up is Where's My Snare, which has been a staple in Kyle's streams over the last year. It's a big club record at heart, but somehow feels equally engaging on repeat as you drip dry your armpits at home.

While recording your cat being vacuumed or your wife washing the dishes may feel like another day in the office to Kyle, we're still gobsmacked at trying to guess where he comes up with these ideas for the most unique drums and production ideas in the game.

Vincenzo releases his first single of 2015, the beautiful “Around The Sun” featuring vocals from Cari Golden. A highlight from his recently released fourth artist album, ‘The Vanishing Years’, it’s a fine example of Vince’s refined and melodic sound. 

Growing from a warm intro of drawn out bass notes and mysterious vocals from Cari Golden, a slow-burning groove takes over, deftly accompanied with subtle chimes and shimmering atmospherics. Vincenzo takes it up a gear after the breakdown, with riding hi-hats and an epic falling melody.

Swiss duo Animal Trainer have been making waves over the past few years with releases on Stil Vor Talent and Poker Flat, and give “Around The Sun” a clubby re-rub, retaining the powerful melodies and vocals of the original and adding some edge to the percussion.

Vincenzo’s own ‘Rising Sun Mix’ strips away the vocal and leaves us with the an extended minimal take, layered with rising drum rolls, swirling melodies and deep low end, ebbing and flowing for 9 splendid minutes.

What You Sample’s kit shuffles it’s way into a hypnotic masquerade of melodic 808’s, calming the listener before hitting with some serious grit! This track shows off one of the deadliest reese basses known to mankind like it’s nothing, while keeping it’s cool in-between, creating a seesaw of volume and atmosphere.
 
A concerto of violins, gangster leads and talking warps are the main ingredients that “I Eat Beats” consists of. That’s right, @kyle-watson is back to drop another solo record on the label most loved by cats and humans everywhere. Remember that time at CRSSD Festival when your face melted? Yep, that was ‘Oh The No’.

Oh The No is a heavily processed record with a warmth that rivals most others. For those of you who don’t speak 'producer talk', that basically means if this track was a colouring-in book then each different page would be a perfectly arranged rainbow of smooth shapes and round squiggles. And 10 points to you if you can pick out the part where Kyle sampled himself eating…

The thing that really makes this record special is the way Kyle has been able to capture the raw and organic feel of the chords, yet still keep it sounding polished and clean.
