Following on from our milestone 100th release earlier this year from one of our all-time favourite DJ and producers; Ninetoes, we welcome back the German talent to the label, this time with an exclusive remix package of his debut 'Ata' EP. Following heavy support on the original release from Solardo, Gorgon City, Claptone, Mark Knight, The Aston Shuffle, Leftwing & Kody and label boss Pirate Copy in both his DJ sets and via his Kaluki Radio show, we are pleased to present this exciting new remix package of both 'Ata' and 'Let U Go' from fellow German artist, SIS and Danish/Filipino producer, Manda Moor. Each mix brings a new and intriguing twist on the original; taking that signature Ninetoes sound and electrifying vocal stabs and adding each remix artist's own signature flair to the records, resulting in two musical masterpieces made for the dancefloor!

After the success of their last release, which saw 'Dazed' peak at number 18 on the Beatport Deep House Charts - Cerillo's Matchbox imprint kicks off 2022 with a single release from the label owner himself, equipped with a groovy deep-tech remix from fellow Irishman - Kamorah.

'Vanity' traverses the House/Techno spectrum, with Cerillo's punchy kicks, skippy hats, and deep stabs - accompanied by some addictive old-skool vocals, to create a contemporary, dancefloor-oriented hitter.

Kamorah delivers an exciting remix with a groove-driven approach to the original. It's percussive, darker, and awash with ambient and trippy sounds that lead up to an effective drop.

Now lot of people don’t like Mondays and we think that’s fair enough; going back to work feeling a decade older after a heavy weekend spent making memories with friends can be a chore for even for the most optimistic of us as we trudge back in to the daily grind.  Luckily, help is at hand as we've secured Dominica's unreleased summer anthem 'Gotta Let You Go'.

Having caused quite a stir in clubs and festivals across the globe throughout warmer months, we had feared that the track wasn't going to get an official release despite the likes of Jackmaster and Skream championing the track in their sets.

Thus we were delighted to hear that it would finally be arriving via Altra Moda Music this November and quickly set about securing it for premiere. Rock solid grooves, pumping synths and rolling snares underpin catchy, redolent vocals for a sunshine soaked floor filler guaranteed to ward off those winter blues.

The ‘Yellow Loop’ EP from Italian producer Santos is the latest release in This And That’s nine-part series exploring the relationship between music and art. Scheduled for release on October 19th, the EP includes three distinctive tracks and a remix from the iconic Riva Starr.
‘Detune' is a laid-back groover of an opener; a thudding bass, tribal-esque percussion and pitched-down male vocals provide the build-up into blissed-out synth chords with a touch of balearic feel-good vibes, whilst ‘Give It To Me’ builds on the tempo with its persistent bell, bouncing drums and eponymous refrain. ‘Rare Boogie’ acts as the centrepiece of the EP; a masterclass in a long-play danceable record, the ethereal breakdown halfway through its nine minutes leads up to a powerful, shooting buzz-saw synth.
Riva Starr’s remix of ‘Rare Boogie’ meanwhile, remains faithful to the original’s defining characteristics, whilst injecting a touch of fun - club-ready jacking hi-hats, a bumping bassline and extra echoing around those monstrous synths both enhance and emphasise the record's original features.
Following the creative ethos of the This And That series, the EP’s cover art is also designed to be visually representative of its contents. Having described the beginning of his creative process as ‘a picture coming into my mind’, Santos feels like an ideal artist to join the ranks of This And That.

Three rugged and slamming house tracks are included and we've picked our favourite to premiere today. 'Flipback' starts as it means to go on with fierce kicks and a thick, rolling low-end bass rumble. The drops are agonisingly prolonged but anyone who knows wAFF, knows that the release is always more than worth the wait.

Davide is not available for comment. He’s got to catch a flight; he’s rushing to the studio; the stage manager is frantically hurrying him into the booth; he’s meeting to discuss plans for his labels…or any of the other myriad reasons why Davide feels like he hasn’t slept, eaten or stopped running for what seems like his whole life.

Born in Siena, raised in Naples, it took a trip to London for Davide to finally discover electronic music. Wooed by the mood and sound of the British scene, he returned to Naples flush with energy, excitement and a knowing that this new calling would consume him. 

Davide immersed himself in this world in every conceivable way. In 1999 he began studying at the Naples’ school of sound engineering, tinkering with his first productions, promoting techno events, and finally performing. His first releases on Primate Records, Design Music andConform were a cadence of his arrival and showcased the young artist’s steadfast style.

Having honed his craft at home, in 2004 Davide left Naples for Barcelona unwavering in his resolve. Now, while touring around the continent, he began to release in earnest what would become a massive body of work, and at a dizzying pace. His productions have graced the catalogs of some of the finest labels including Ovum, Sci+Tec, Morris Audio, Resopal Schallware, Supernature, CMYK, Adagio, Viva, Nervous, Saved, Shake, Rillis; the list goes on… 

Added to that, you have to take into account the labels which Davide founded and still curatestoday – Sketch, Minisketch, Vir, 500, Titbit and Hideout. 2012 sees the start of Davide’s latest innovative project. This and That Lab will be a unique fusion of label and think tank combining music, art and culture used as a platform for Davide and other like minded artists to develop creative projects in music, visual art, design, fashion and writing.

In addition to his genre-defining works, Davide continues to inspire and ignite dancefloors worldwide. Whether it be at Circoloco, where he has been a resident since 2007, Womb, Berghain, D.Edge, or any other marquee venue, Davide plays with an unequalled funk and excitement. His signature sets, revered by the masses and peers alike, do a double duty in guarding our much-loved traditions while constantly pushing them forward.

The realm of possibilities for one of electronic music’s leading lights is endless. Unfortunately, the minutes in the day are not. Davide’s answer is simple – do what you love and make no compromises.
