In this strange year, from the Outsiders family we set the objective of non stopping beside everything. We believe music on this troubling times is an escape and a way to relax, so we kept working on making music. “Rave” is the regaining of freedom for which Gunjah fought. He wrestled with himself in a constant struggle for identity. What is good music, and who really still wants to hear what I feel? This is what the child of the 90´s asked himself, only to determine: “I don’t care”! And so he produces, plays and loves that which he was always capable of: a good rave. To throw away the mask and dance freely. Shunning imposed images, forced identities and invented personalities. In the video, the dancer is looking for a shelter, and he moves to gain freedom. He dances for his
freedom, Gunjah snuggles up to his music. Together, they are “Rave”: One video, one single and two remixes.
Recreated by the Brazilian superstar Gui Boratto, a remix emerged as an ideological solidarity. Gui inspired Gunjah to be true to himself, and he interprets his music as a fraternal matter of course.
The greatest Gunjah lobbyist, Niconé, has known “Rave” and its creator since childhood days, and can therefore naturally connect with it. He mixes it with the same self-evident fact that Gunjah and Niconé have been close pals in spirit and on joint projects for years.

Round 004 and NONSTOP chief Pirupa comes out swinging, backed by a crew of fresh talent and four stunning new party anthems.

First up is the tried and tested monster collab ‘Go’. The Shawnecy vocalled track has been a firm Marco Carola favoruite, rocking many a Music On party over recent weeks with its breakbeat drop and thumping keys. Next up is ‘Far From Home’, the collaboration with long time friend and accomplice Pigi, working under his Luid alias. A partnership thats already struck gold with 2009’s Sweet Devil, does so again on this epic, progressive and uplifting number.

Having spent the summer in Ibiza soaking up the vibes and hanging out with fellow islander Alex Kennon, it was only a matter of time before beats were built together. With more music set to drop in 2016, Pirupa & Alex tease us with the bombastic and outrageously funky ‘Cleopatra’. Finally its something of a family affair as Pirupa teams up with his young protegé Ninho on ‘Acid Hop’. Many hours of guidance in the studio now come to fruition as ‘Acid Hop’ signals whats set to be a stream of new singles from the pair and the unveiling of a future star.

B1 - Ainay (Preview)

Olivier Mateu (Rodriguez Jr.) will be the first to admit it; he’s never satisfied. From his time as a mathematics student in his nascent rave days in the French city of Montepellier, to the itchy musical feet that would only grow as the years progressed, and his time as one-half of influential live act The Youngsters on Laurent Garnier’s FComs label, he’s always striven to push himself to the next level – both creatively and technically.

With each release, you can simultaneously get the sense of an exquisitely talented artists who is grafting to get the most out of himself and his machines, while being astonished at the creativity and intricate sound design of his work to create stirring dancefloor-ready compositions that sound just as good a club or festival, as they do through a pair of headphones during a home listening session.

The generous four-track work is lead by title track ‘Petropolis’ - a master study in tension and release, the stripped back techno beats, summon the kind of sweat-dripping off-the-walls transcendental rave experience that’ll have you grinning for days afterwards. ‘Capitelle’, is vintage Rodriguez Jr., uplifting and melancholic in equal doses and is propelled by a muscular, compression-heavy bassline that builds towards a sublimely trippy crescendo.

Always one to technically stretch himself, ‘Sulfuric State’ sees the savvy sound technician utilize his beloved 303 not for a distorted, full throttle acid onslaught, but rather something far gentler; a mesmerizing and emotive nine-minute trip through time and space. The first sneak peek from the Frenchmen’s upcoming album, ‘Cily’ sees the tempo drop into dreamy ‘90s house territory, with subtle references to the classic French touch sound, but re-imagined in Rodriguez Jr.'s own fresh original way.

«There Was A Day» détient une ame groovy et aerienne, un titre enivrant et percutant qui sent l’été, oùles synthés résonnent au milieu de percussions minimalistes sur des lignes de basses toutes en rondeur, parsemées de nappes spatiales, avec cette voix féminine dominante ajoutant une indéniable touche mélancolique au morceau. Il réconcilie la ballade et le club, la détente et la fougue, et son refrain aux allures de «tube» finit par persister agréablement dans nos oreilles.

Sovnger ouvre la marche des trois remixes qui composent ce maxi en nous régalant d’entrée avec son style patient et rebondissant à souhait, sur un tempo échauffé de cymbales alléchantes, sans oublier ses mystiques transitions qui révèlent une chute puissante et incisive.
Puis, avec Attari qui se charge de remodeler l’originale façon Electro-Tech avec une redoutable précision, on pénètre dans une atmosphère club aux heures tardives.

La version plus House et profonde de Korgbrain nous fait rêver tout en nous emmenant dans nos pensées les plus enfouies…

« There Was A Day » has a groovy and aerial soul. The female voice adding an undeniable touch of melancholy, this is especially a thrilling and strong song which smells like summer days. With this title, Lecomte de Brégeot is reconciling the ballade and the club, the relaxation and the enthusiasm ; the chorus sounding like one of a hit pleasantly remains in our ears.

Regarding the remixes, Sovnger is pleasing us with his good production level and minimal touch, it reminds us of a Crosstown Rebels release.
Then, Attar! is restructuring the original with his own and effective Deep House vision. KorgBrain goes more Techno, making us feeling dreamy.

To marvellously end this EP, « Boxon Twist » is a good surprise, a real Techno-Electro demonstration or else a kind wink to the Boxon label.

This And That is a label dedicated to Techno and House music which is run by Davide Squillace, who as well as being one of the world’s leading DJ’s, is also an influential producer whose music can be found on No.19 Music, Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, Desolat, VIVa MUSiC, Minus and pretty much any other scene leading label you can think of...
Previous releases on This And That have included music from the likes of Carlo Lio, Riva Starr, Carl Cox, Lee Van Dowski, Guti, Re.You, Doorly plus Jesse Rose, and this new release welcomes AFFKT, Upercent and Eduardo De La Calle into the labels star studded family of artists.
Sincopat label boss AFFKT teams up with Upercent to collaborate on the original tracks, and Eduardo De La Calle provides the remix on this stunning release.
To many a fan of melodic House or Techno AFFKT needs no introduction, as along with releases on his own Sincopat label, his music has also featured on influential imprints including Kling Klong, Bedrock, Mobilee and Suara.
Upercent boasts previous releases on Amam, Snatch! Records, Moda Black plus Suruba, and met AFFKT after a number of releases on Sincopat. Both based in Spain, the pair formed a close friendship and it wasn’t long before they agreed to collaborate on some music, to which this EP is the result.
Adding to this already action packed release is Eduardo De La Calle who is an eclectic producer respected for making both House and Techno for labels including Cadenza, Dynamic Reflection, Mule Musiq plus his own label Analog Solutions.
With all involved in this release having an almost endless list of prestigious achievements, this melodic release which fuses dark tension with intricate beauty and a medley of textures, shows no one involved is yet to peak.
Well sculpted from start to finish, each track is flawlessly programmed and everything down to Haptic's stunning vocal work on the lead track titled “La Bruixa” is perfection personified in sound.

Davide is not available for comment. He’s got to catch a flight; he’s rushing to the studio; the stage manager is frantically hurrying him into the booth; he’s meeting to discuss plans for his labels…or any of the other myriad reasons why Davide feels like he hasn’t slept, eaten or stopped running for what seems like his whole life.

Born in Siena, raised in Naples, it took a trip to London for Davide to finally discover electronic music. Wooed by the mood and sound of the British scene, he returned to Naples flush with energy, excitement and a knowing that this new calling would consume him. 

Davide immersed himself in this world in every conceivable way. In 1999 he began studying at the Naples’ school of sound engineering, tinkering with his first productions, promoting techno events, and finally performing. His first releases on Primate Records, Design Music andConform were a cadence of his arrival and showcased the young artist’s steadfast style.

Having honed his craft at home, in 2004 Davide left Naples for Barcelona unwavering in his resolve. Now, while touring around the continent, he began to release in earnest what would become a massive body of work, and at a dizzying pace. His productions have graced the catalogs of some of the finest labels including Ovum, Sci+Tec, Morris Audio, Resopal Schallware, Supernature, CMYK, Adagio, Viva, Nervous, Saved, Shake, Rillis; the list goes on… 

Added to that, you have to take into account the labels which Davide founded and still curatestoday – Sketch, Minisketch, Vir, 500, Titbit and Hideout. 2012 sees the start of Davide’s latest innovative project. This and That Lab will be a unique fusion of label and think tank combining music, art and culture used as a platform for Davide and other like minded artists to develop creative projects in music, visual art, design, fashion and writing.

In addition to his genre-defining works, Davide continues to inspire and ignite dancefloors worldwide. Whether it be at Circoloco, where he has been a resident since 2007, Womb, Berghain, D.Edge, or any other marquee venue, Davide plays with an unequalled funk and excitement. His signature sets, revered by the masses and peers alike, do a double duty in guarding our much-loved traditions while constantly pushing them forward.

The realm of possibilities for one of electronic music’s leading lights is endless. Unfortunately, the minutes in the day are not. Davide’s answer is simple – do what you love and make no compromises.
