Patrick Topping returns to Hot Creations with his 'Taking Libz EP' and demonstrates why his reputation carries such weight with three special tracks that act as a master-class in how to create music that will consume dance floors.

First up is 'Brayed' which takes the listener on a loopy and enriching journey, whilst 'Howk' is a classic foot-to-the-floor number. Concluding the EP is 'Taking Libz', the title track that sees Topping firmly hold onto his crown with this unstoppable cut.

i-D Magazine described Patrick’s style "that is characterized by punchy, chugging baselines that have become weapons in the sets of many a DJ." Started his career DJing at the club night Motion in Newcastle, he was quickly snapped up by Jamie Jones, for Hot Creations. Releases on the label and a residency at Paradise DC10 in Ibiza soon followed and 2014 saw him release ‘Get Beasty’, ‘Forget’ and ‘Voicemail’ featuring Green Velvet and concluded with a hattrick of awards including winning the DJ Mag Best Newcomer, Track Of The Season and Best Tune awards in their Best of British Awards.

Pelvis are the Sydney-based DJ and fashion collective that have been tearing up Australia with raucous underground raves and kitting out its population with stylish wares since 2012.

Now the crew are spreading their wings even further with the launch of a label titled Pelvis Records, minting it with the ghetto-fuelled ‘Dance Freak Anthem’. It’s rough, sexy and vigorous, perfectly encapsulating the MO of a Pelvis dance party.

‘Dance Freak (Mall Grab Workers' Union remix)’ sees the young producer transform Pelvis’ raw offering into a sparkling number, infusing  it with that feel good Mall Grab sound with a sprightly synth melody, yet still retaining the original’s sex appeal with good use of the sultry vocal sample.

The title track “They Like To Funk” immediately strikes a funky and fun note living of its bouncy bassline that brings about proper attitude. “The Slammer” is a go hard or go home tune getting down and dirty with an addictive groove that hits you right in the guts, combined with an almost hypnotic vocal and melody. Watergate welcome back two of Hamburg’s finest and most recent international exports: Adana Twins. Last seen on their latest Various Artists compilation, the duo returns with three absolutely stunning tracks of low slung, infectious cuts blurring the lines between House and Techno with an undeniable brush stroke of character the two are quickly becoming synonymous for.

‘Flower Of Cane’ kicks things off in an almost sinister fashion with massive low end bursts and a fever inducing, single note that never stops rising culminating in a climactic crescendo of dance floor euphoria while ‘Ortus’ takes a much more ‘up-beat’ approach with dreamy arpeggios and shimmering atmospherics laid over a pulsing bassline resulting in a gorgeous number ideal for a number of memorable moments.

Wrapping up the originals is the guaranteed summer anthem: 'Relentless fest. Jeppe Kjellberg’ where sultry vocals and lush aural artifacts launch sensations to uncharted new heights. Not done yet, we asked none other than the brilliant Andre Lodemann to create his revision of ‘Relentless feat. Jeep Kjellberg’ and he, as always, delivered big time.
