Urbani returns to Slime after the last year’s ‘Midnight’ EP became a firm favourite of forward-thinking Garage fans everywhere. The producer’s innate sense of melody combined with intricate beat work has seen him go from strength to strength, maturing into a sound that is uniquely his on his latest offering, ‘Phased’.

‘All I Want’ sets the standard early with warm chords and seductive female vocals opening the track into a gargantuan sub-bass growl and crisp 2-step percussion. Unfurling with a darkly atmospheric tone, it marks out early why Urbani is one to watch in the new batch of garage producers currently rising up through the ranks.

‘Quiet’ builds on the former track with soulful male vocals drenched over a heavyweight bassline and crunching beats that will seriously test any sound system, combining the groove of 2-step with the muscularity of breaks for something a little different and engaging.

‘The Night’ takes a lighter tone with R&B twisted into a summertime anthem, complete with joyful chords, soaring vocals and a classic garage beat underpinning proceedings that gets better with every listen.

Labelmates Cup & String step up for remix duties on ‘All I Want’, stripping back the original into a bass-heavy monster that packs a serious punch and further reinforces their reputation as one of the best production outfits out of Australia right now.

Slime is proud to present the third instalment in its Future Sound of Garage series.

The first two volumes have been hugely popular for the label, with both debuting at Number One in the Juno Download UKG Album Chart and remaining in the top ten since their release, with the retailer stating “with a reputation like that of Slime's, when they present their idea of garage future, it tends to be pretty definitive”. Both volumes received widespread support and critical acclaim across the garage DJ community, with substantial airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Kiss FM, Capital Xtra and beyond. The second volume contained arguably the biggest underground UKG hit of the last year in Bad Habit’s ‘Fools Love’, which continues to be a staple of DJ sets and radio play around the world.

Fast forward to 2016 and Garage is very much in the ascendancy once more, but what of the future for the sound? For this year’s edition of the compilation, Slime has cast the net wider than ever before to capture some of the most exciting up and coming producers from the growing global scene, featured here alongside more established names of the underground. Across 28 exclusive tracks, we trace the huge explosion in the sound over the past year with a full spectrum of sounds and styles that take Garage into brave new worlds and push the boundaries of this ever evolving genre. Cup & String was an idea between two mates in 2015 who share 2 decades of friendship. What started as banter has turned into a duo producing a variety of House Music and UK garage. Coming from two very different musical backgrounds, Lukasz specialises in nu disco , and Ross is part of an international renowned drum and bass outfit. With their varied knowledge and expertise, the two have created their own sound and have charted multiple times in top 10s on Traxsource, Bp and Juno.

Since 2015 they've received support for their productions from some of the big guns of house music from the likes of Todd Terry, Grant Nelson, Miguel Migs, Little Louie Vega, Golf Clap, Kevin Yost, Saison, Richard Earnshaw + many others. The recognition doesn't stop there, in the UK Garage scene their tracks have been shown love by DJ EZ, DJ Luck & Mc Neat, The Artful Dodger, Mike Ruffcut Lloyd, Jeremy Sylvester, Mc Kie, + more, and often been regarded as Australia's best UK Garage producers. Other accolades include releasing an EP on Kevin Saunderson's Legendary KMS Records, Remixing Deekline's "Be Happy" which was picked up by Universal Music Worldwide, an EP on Chicago's "Large Music", worked with Central Station Music Australia on multiple projects plus a bunch of releases on many other labels.

Based in Perth, the most isolated city in the world, the two have been seen bouncing behind the decks entertaining punters with energetic sets in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and completed a successful tour with UK Garage Royalty The Artful Dodger & DJ Luck & Mc Neat. They have also made their way overseas playing at the Iconic Circus Tokyo multiple times and Barcode Taipei.

In 2019 the duo decided to have a break to focus on their other projects which saw Ross touring around Europe and Lukasz touring around Australia and New Zealend. Due to Covid Ross moved back to Australia mid 2020 and the duo decided it was time to get back to it and revive the project.

2021 was a great year for the Duo remixing Dr Packer's number 1 Hit "Get Some Soul" which peaked at #1 in the Deep House Top 10 on Traxsource and #3 overall and finished the year strong with 1 number #1 and 6 Top 10s landing them #47 Deep House artists for 2021. 

2022 has seen the duo continue on with their love for Deep House by launching their new Label "Sectional Recordings" which has already started to gain some traction. The duo also released an EP on Deepalma records and remixed one of their favourite artists tracks - Saison's - Dilbert's Ditty. 

With a string of exciting releases to come the duo will continue to push the boundaries of electronic music with their feet still firmly planted in the underground.
