Radio Pager Episode 31 - Mayell

Opening phase 3 of the RCU, the Reptilian Mix 07 introduces rising star @tau-car, already quite famous in the Neuköllnywood underground art-house scene. She is now stepping under the World Wide Web projector lights for reptilian connoisseurs' uppermost enjoyment. 

Indeed, Car has experienced her share of life-changing party experiences, to a point she had to answer the call of Jane Gain™ and started to ride those transitions as if her life was depending on it. Relentlessly practicing, she started deep diving into minimal / tech-house, funky club-house, and electroclash to create her distinctive sound showcased in this mix. Her ability to select and play records is only equaled by her love towards Renéchou, her dogtilian son, adding a new member to the reptilian bestiary.

She is the closest crew member imaginable and we are more than proud to feature her first mix in the series.

Our prayers to His Holiness St. Jean de Deglingui have been answered. For the Reptilian Mix saga Phase 3 closing, we have been graced by a mix by none other than our sister Sibil, now world famous DJ and disco déglingue diva. 

The long overdue entry of Boubou in the Reptilian series is as flamboyant as the IRL gal herself: colourful, bold, classy, and expertly crafted (as well as mastered in IMAX by Tartartinou himself). The Syb goes all gas no brakes (and indeed, no breaks) on what makes her hips wiggle and her curtain fringe sway. No voice note needed to voice how much we love it.

Treat yourself and enjoy the ride with a bowl of Pedigree and remember to keep your eyes on the road fam. Free Billy, in theaters now.

"I made this mix recorded this mix as a tribute and in memory of a 6 years long partner (my ex girlfriend) Sarah Ramirez aka Rox c Brown, who passed away last year from a rare and agressive type of cancer.  

Her loss came up as a tremendous shock and painful event, for I shared 6 years of traveling the globe together. Her passing was unbelievable at first knowing how healthy of spirit and body she always was. 
She was such a ray of light and an inspiring soul for many of us.
It took me quite some time to process it all, and find a way to express all the crazy emotions that came through the mourning.

Music was the best way to honour her. I selected tracks from the time back when we were together, songs which always make me think of her and the emotions she carried. That's what I tried to share through this mix. 

I know deep down this mix will help her stay alive in our heart. 

Today would have been her birthday.

We first met Vouiz and Noyo at the early hours of a cold April morning, wrapped up in hot clothes, expresso (martini) in hand, getting ready to play the first set of the day on the outside stage of Atipik’s Intergalamactik. And what a set! despite the cold weather they warmed up everybody’s mind, body & soul.

These two have been operating as IZ/YO for the last 4 years. Influenced by all the different sub-genres of house, electro and breakbeats their music explores various horizons, creating a unique atmosphere with one idea in mind : the groove !

The LCDO podcast series continues with Zakir & his set that left a lasting impression in 2024, under the beloved « Chant des oiseaux » tent, the Nidoaso.
A Western-inspired, highly cinematic set, on which he worked passionately for over two years.
“At first, I started collecting Western tracks kind of by accident, and then gradually I ended up with several, without even looking for them. So I thought there was something to build from these sounds.”
Over those two years, he kept digging for Western gems, without pressure, but with a clear determination to make sense of it all: recording a set, starting over, listening back, dozens of times. Digging again.

This set is ultimately an adventure : an artist’s desire to tell us a story, and a true will to offer a listening experience that explores a singular, unexpected aesthetic.

Slctvtones, Ken-Luc - Miss My Love [Deep Clicks]

Hell Yeah's lovingly curated Buena Onda series is back with a new edition that focuses on Adriatic Beats & Beyond. It has been assembled by label head Marco Gallerani and features four exclusive new tunes that reflect his summer residences at a cosy beach bar on Italy's Eastern and Adriatic coast.

Marco moved back to his hometown of Ferrara after the pandemic and began spending more time at the local seaside, the famous Lidi Ferraresi. It's there, at Lido di Spina, that a friend runs Kai Beach Bar, a small spot where, every Thursday throughout August for the last three years, he has soundtracked afternoons and sunsets under the Buena Onda banner, more than a decade after the party first started in Berlin.

"The beat has become less Balearic, more Adriatic," he explains of the sounds that can be heard up and down the coastline. "There’s no sunset culture yet, but they like a groove for aperitivo. This selection reflects the music I propose there, a kinda sunrise to sunset trip."

The 13-track selection includes four exclusives: the first is Blende's 'Amor,' which is forthcoming on the label. Johan Blende is a Swedish producer, songwriter and DJ who weaves together modern dance with retro sounds of the 70s and 80s and debuts on the label this summer with his Recess EP. 'Amor' is a bubbly groove with a New Age wash and lo-fi pads full of charm.

Hell Yeah regular and Italian magic man Walter Del Vecchio aka Quiroga also offers a new Baia Club Ambient Version of 'French Kiss' which has a lazy acid line worming its way through dubby kicks and tabla drums, and his dreamy electro soother 'Cala Ventosa' also features. Secret Soul Society, aka South Wales's Cal Gibson, also tests a new EP with his 'Orange Surprise' blending off-balance rhythmic shuffles with starry cosmic melodies. The final exclusive is from Balearic Gabba Sound System, who flip The Vendetta Suite aka the legendary Gary Irwin's 'Della Notte' into a quietly epic cinematic closer with icy analogue beats and a warped bassline for dubbed out late night escape. His 'Island Hill Microdot' also offers some warped cosmic ambient house introspection.

Elsewhere, Michele Mininni features twice - once with Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof Remix of the suspensory ambient lushness pop 'Carousel of Tears' and once with the original percussive pressure and hip-house fusion of 'Urban Voodoo' from his Pop Archetypes LP. Buena Onda veteran Feel Fly comes through with an Estatico Danzante Remix of Pedro Bertho's 'Tornei' feat Mariana Gehring and takes us to the stars on twinkling keys, dusty breakbeats and steamy vocals that glow as warm as a setting sun.

Add in further groovy gems such as Bonnie and Klein's synth and vibes laced 'Horizon Avenue,' dreamy, breaks-driven downtempo brilliance from pub wave innovator Dawn Again, hints of Ibiza cool from Willie Graff's remix of Aura Safari & Jimi Tenor and some upbeat synth-laced house from label stalwart Luminodisco and you have a faultless collection of grooves for grown up dance floors.

192 launches the first episode of their new and long-awaited saga: the Reptilian Mixes. This first episode starts almost a year after the Prequel which introduced our Reptilian anti-heroes. It focuses on @internationalmac, already famous for his disruptive dance moves such as the classical “Air Marche Arrière” or the legendary “Air Lasso”. Well, it turns out that between two dances International Mac also dedicates his time to digging and playing his rare finds. In this one-hour+ long sequence shot, International Mac navigates between groovy house and obscure breaks and sets the basis for a new reference saga in the blockbuster era.
