Born and raised in New York City by a former disco dancer, Gian-Paul is known to be at the forefront of newer and ever-changing sounds influenced by 90s and early 2000s house and tech house records. He has solidified himself as a mainstay in the NY underground dance music scene playing globally recognized parties such as Resolute, Golden Record, Dance. Here. Now., Gray Area, as well as U Feel, Alien Communications, and Pleasure Abroad. He currently holds residencies at top NY venues, SILO Brooklyn and Outer Heaven. As a producer, he has released a number of EPs on his co-owned label, BKH Music, as well as single releases with CLOO for Illur, Capadi Rebels, U Feel, and Swerve Digital.

His podcast for Gradient is a 60 minute all vinyl mix. It blends deep, dubby, and hypnotic, punchy sounds from some of his favorite early 2000s and newly released house and tech-house records.

Fusing genre-bending funky four-on-the-floor/two-step rhythms and breaks with his own hypnotic guitar riffs and airy synths, the producer-songwriter-guitarist captivates audiences whether they stumble upon Sasha Rome in the club or at home. 

With tracks released on lauded tastemaker labels including Locked On Records, Southpoint, and Deep Root, as well as original tracks and remixes for both local and international talent (QRTR, GEOTHEORY, Mazde), the musician demonstrates that his passion for true artistry and authentic collaboration is the cornerstone of his project. Sasha Rome is a New York City live favorite, performing on stages at venues including Webster Hall, Knockdown Center, Elsewhere, and the Lot Radio, supporting artists like Disclosure, Justin Martin, Jacques Greene, Snakehips, Channel Tres, and Golden Features. Rome is now getting ready for his upcoming EP release in early 2025.

Bio:
For as long as he can remember, music has been an important part of his life. Even as a child, he never parted with a tape recorder. As a teenager, he hosted school discos and those organized by the Youth Culture Center. The turning point was meeting DJ KiD, who introduced him to working as a DJ behind the scenes. Fascinated by this world, he decided to go further. He played in many Polish and also several Slovak clubs, and won the vice-championship of Subcarpathia. He loves progressive and melodic house, but in his sets he always has fun with music and tries to combine several genres (hence "Bridge"). He likes to play calmly, but also harder and more energetically, which you will be able to see for yourself by listening to the next part of this podcast.
