I wrote these songs onboard (and mostly on-deck) the Reykjafoss cargo ship traveling from Portland, ME to Reykjavik, Iceland in June of 2017. Woven into these are my own emotions and reflections while drifting across the ocean as well as those I picked up from the Russian and Icelandic captain and crew. 

All of the recordings took place upon returning to Portland but the song lyrics, structure, and feeling are relatively unchanged from their original onboard state. It is my hope that these songs capture the loneliness, longing, excitement, adventure, and beauty of a life spent chasing horizons- those called to the sea, to the road, to the adventures and challenges that keep them from the comfort and safety of home.
