Exciting, life of the party, and determined, these words are used to describe Obed-Edom also known as Derrell Lamont Porter. He is a proud native of Baltimore, Maryland, a devoted youngest of three siblings and talented young man.  As Porter, spoke passionately about his life and aspirations you could see the sparkle in his eyes and ambition to achieve something special out of life. 
Things changed for Porter and his family in 1998, when Porter and his family moved to Virginia. “We were experiencing a new beginning” Porter responds as he refers to his childhood.  By the age of 14, he began writing music; when he reached the age of 16, he expanded and became a Gospel Rapper.
Porter helped form a gospel rap band, A.P.O.S.T.L.E. (Always Praising Our Savior to Live Eternally).  Since the formation of the group, A.P.O.S.T.L.E., Porter has performed hundreds of shows. He's played a vital role in the band where he wrote, engineered and produced the music.  After a while, he started to perform under the stage name “Obed-Edom.”  Obed-Edom means "Servant of God;" and in the Bible, Obed-Edom was very musically inclined.  As the year 2011 was starting to come to a close, Obed-Edom had made an important decision; he decided to become a solo artist.
Obed-Edom finished college with his Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications at Virginia State University.  Obed-Edom prefers to be on television more than radio because he wants his personality to visually be expressed to the world. He is a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. and P.A.N.I.C. 2000 (People Against Negativity Inspiring Creativity), where he is a Gospel Rap Artist. He continued his love for sports by playing recreational basketball and also becoming a team member of the VSU Soccer Club.  He joined the United Campus Ministries Avodah; a Campus Ministries Choir that performs at the school’s services and throughout the city of Petersburg, VA.  
He made his acting debut at Virginia State University in Trav-e-logue with Babs & Kitty (2011), as a bartender and waiter.  He has not only performed in school performances, but has also performed in church plays such as “Speak to My Heart".  Hopefully, he plans to continue his acting as time progresses.

Richmond native Rayshawn "Graphik" Harris was born May 13, 1987 in M.C.V hospital located in the downtown area of Richmond VA. He began his life living in the Jackson Ward Projects with his mother, which marked only the beginning of many trials and tribulations he would soon face. With his father being in and out of jail due to heavy participation in the drug game, Graphik was already faced with much to bear at young age. Sadly, things would soon only get worse for him. His mother suffered from a dangerous addiction to crack cocaine, a addiction that came with a heavy price to pay! Due to his mothers actions from her addiction he tragically lost two of his siblings, Brittany and Savon Harris in the early 90's. Soon thereafter, he was placed in the custody of his grandparents Marlene and Larry Harris. Making a transition to the southside area of Richmond he began running the streets, mainly around the Hopkins rd and Broad Rock areas. The events of his recent past reflected highly in his attitude and behavior. He had grown bitter, pretty much having a ~I dont give a fuck" mentality, causing him to be kicked out of numerous schools. Some may have thought that all hope was lost for him but, he soon would find a release. Graphik found a passion inside of him that not only leveled him out but helped him to cope with life as well. Music! Music became his breath of fresh air through the many storms he had and was facing. It was also his way of publicly displaying his story, reaching out for a ear to listen. Some may not understand his music or his passion for it but, he thrives to make visible his undeniable truth. Graphik is truly a star on the rise, having more than 175 tracks on record with over 5 mixtapes and counting. Amazingly talented he not only shines as a artist but also as a producer, beat maker, mixes, and graphic designer. Working hard in such aspects not only for his selfmade tracks but, for his upcoming label and movement as well. Destined for greatness Graphik is focused, determined, and pushing strong to makes his dreams and aspirations a marvelous reality. He does so in memory of his grandparents in which he will always thrive to never let down! By Shalita McNally
