Two stories, shared by two voices - casked together by two sounds. Tayir’s debut EP on Equanimity blends together the day and night, encapsulated by a duality of light and dark.

Embodied with quirky sounds and dissected melodies, the Berlin duo merge together a selection of abstract feels, coolly unified in its electronic stance. 

Daylight comes humorous as ‘Angry Customer’: the melody dawns and blossoms amongst the hi-hats and whimsical harmonics and paves the way to the angry voice - expressive vocabulary we’ve certainly felt at least once in our lives; a lighter heart is carried throughout with the big, bouncy bassline straight to the end. 

Shooting straight to ‘The Dark Side’, we take a deeper turn with the harder kicks, slicker scratches and a harmony which canvases from the bottom to the top and all over again, as the vocals revel in admitting ‘at night I do crazy things’. An anecdote to all ourselves as we slip from the sun into the shadows.

With a string of successful career releases on the likes of Afterlife, All Day I Dream, Bedrock, Human by Default and Balance Music, and a hugely successful world tour in 2022, prolific Argentinian producer, composer, celebrated recording artist and live act, Juan Hansen, now looks to open his 2023 tally with the announcement of his latest solo offering, Higher EP. 

Due for worldwide release on February 17 via independent German label MEIOSIS Records, the two-part Higher EP marks Hansen’s inaugural solo outing on the burgeoning, Berlin-based imprint, following two critically acclaimed EP releases as part of three-person vocal electronica outfit FORMA (Hollow EP and The Peak EP) in 2021 and 2022 respectively. 

Positioned amongst an elite group of artists who manage to comfortably straddle multiple musical reference points, Hansen fuses electronica, analog instrumentation and organic soundscapes with remarkable deft. Opening the EP with the absorbing title track Higher, his robust broken beats and warped textures are complimented perfectly by ethereal samples and subtle vocal drops, with a series of mind-bending arpeggiated synth lines forming the backbone of the tripped-out narrative. 

Taking things down a notch for the carefully considered closer Irreplaceable, the Argentinian’s trademark amalgam of restrained drum patterns and textured synths is utterly compelling, as he concocts a spine-tingling, lo-fi house track that delivers from the off. Propelled by refined rhythms and dynamic synth lines, Irreplaceable comes complete with an official live performance music video, recorded from a waterfront pagoda in Tulum, Mexico. Recreating the track, live, Juan’s unmatched musicality and creativity shines, as he adds to his impressive catalogue with another majestic musical masterpiece.

Montréal-based producer and live act CRi teams up with Half Moon Run on ‘Astray’, the second single from his forthcoming sophomore album ‘Miracles’, out September 22.

CRi’s unique blend of high-energy basslines, dreamy multi-lingual vocals and upbeat melodies have made him a household name in his native Quebec, and having won two ASDIQ awards with his debut album Juvenile (2020), Christophe Dubé is on the brink of a major international success.

French-Canadian producer and live act Christophe Dubé, aka CRi, is a dance music star in the making. Following in the footsteps of fellow Montréalers Jacques Greene and Kaytranada, CRi has risen through the city’s bubbling scene in recent years and now reveals his debut album ‘Juvenile’.

Released early this summer, the album’s first single ‘Never Really Get There’, features CRi’s long-time collaborator Jesse Mac Cormack. With the announcement of ‘Juvenile’, CRi shares his latest LP offering with ‘Runaway’ featuring the sultry vocals of friend and album collaborator Sophia Bel.

A self-taught college dropout, CRi caught the attention of tastemaker press with early singles ‘Rush’ and ‘Don’t’, which were accompanied by award-winning music videos, and picked up a nomination for Electronic Release of The Year at the 2018 Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to The Grammy’s).

CRi’s sound blurs light, dream-like melodies with textured production - capturing the energy of the dancefloor, and the nostalgia of the morning after. Christophe draws inspiration from his musical heroes Moby, St Germain and Daniel Bélanger (who appears on the album), along with more contemporary influences ranging from Caribou and Dark Sky to Jacques Greene and Actress.

Having debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019 he quickly caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Annie Mac with his ‘Initial EP’, which was also championed on KCRW by Jason Bentley. 

The 11-track debut LP ‘Juvenile’ now marks a coming of age for the young artist…

“Juvenile is an ode to youth, innocence and dreams. The melancholy of the past and the hope of the future shape the mood of this album. The project revisits what resonated with me when I was young, and blends it with what drives me today. It’s a way for me to take stock of an era, and turn the page on something new.”

Throughout the album CRi collaborates with a number of his French-Canadian contemporaries, including Sophia Bel and Bernache (one third of indie pop band Men I Trust), and Québécois legend Daniel Bélanger. A star of the French-Canadian music scene and three-time Juno award winner, Daniel Bélanger lends his distinctive Francophone vocals to ‘Signal’, the album’s third single.

“All the collaborators come from Montréal (or at least from Québéc); it was very important that my first album was a product of my environment.”

A talented live performer, CRi plays solo and as a three-piece band with collaborators Jesse Mac Cormack and Sophia Bel. A hot ticket in his hometown, he has already headlined Piknic Electronik and played to thousands at Osheaga. With touring plans on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic, CRi will present a series of livestreams throughout the summer.

The album marks another milestone for UK label Anjunadeep. Celebrating it's 15th anniversary, the label is now approaching 500 releases, and is known for unearthing the likes of Dusky, Lane 8, Yotto and Cubicolor. With hundreds of millions of streams in recent years, and sold-out label festivals around the world, Anjunadeep continues to cement its place as one of electronic music’s leading labels, with CRi at the forefront.
