Icarus moved into this year with a fresh appetite for consistently releasing new music, and a vision for a new body of work. With singles like ‘Last Night Felt Like The Future’, 'Forever', 'Catch Your Breath', 'Dominoes' and 'Draw The Line', we've seen Icarus continue to develop and refine their signature sound, building masses of energy into the launch of their hotly anticipated Album ‘Change’.

Icarus say:

"We sometimes find that placing a loose theme around a project can help us focus and find our path through the creative process. The theme around this Album is 'Change', and all the feelings and emotions that come along with that. The frustrations of a current situation, the anxieties of an uncertain future, all the way through to a gradual clarity that comes with taking time to reflect and becoming confident with who you are and where you are. Almost a process of ordering what was once chaos. The record represents where we've been, where we're at, and where we're going."

Inspired by the sense of community and determination which came out of the current pandemic, Just Her wrote the shimmering, uplifting ‘All We Have Is Now’ as a reminder to stay in the present moment and be thankful for the now, as “that’s really all we have”.
 
Later in 2020, Just Her created ‘Stay The Same’, which was produced specifically to sit alongside ‘All We Have Is Now’ for an EP release. As Just Her wanted ‘Stay The Same’ to be stylistically different to its partner track, she added her own hauntingly fragile vocals. The lyrics highlight the strength of relationships and a reflection of how strong things have been with her partner during the pandemic, despite everything which they have experienced.
 
Just Her has released on several leading labels including on Anjunadeep, Get Physical, Crosstown Rebels, Global Underground, Selador, Armada, her own Constant Circles label. Just Her’s releases have been supported by Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Eli & Fur, Blond:ish, Hernan Cattaneo, Gorgon City, M.A.N.D.Y, John Digweed, Andhim, Dave Seaman, Gabriel & Dresden, Dosem, VONDA7, Dee Montero, James Grant, amongst others.

Sam Irl is back with a new EP for his Jazz & Milk home base.
The EP title “Donau” refers to his growing up in rural Lower Bavaria as well as having lived in Vienna for almost two decades, both located on the Danube River.

All three tracks are based on a free-flowing vibe with an organic and unique sound signature. Using minimalistic, but well-crafted song structures, analogue synth lines and sampled drum chops, his deep rhythms & grooves are always purposeful, yet loose and definitely rolling in their own time.

Besides making music Sam Irl has been busy working in his Viennese studio as a mixing and mastering engineer for a wide range of underground and independent artists.

'Make It Work’ Is my mantra, really… The lyrics serve as a reminder to make things happen for myself without waiting on others to fix things. Finding meaning in my music is a really important part of my songwriting process, and I always try to write lyrics that are thought-provoking, but ‘Make It Work’ is more about a manifestation through the lyrics and what the sonics allow people to feel whilst listening. Hopefully gives you a little snippet of what’s to come on my own label Spin Suga.
