MOVE

"Lightspeed" is Stu Rawle's first single. It was written following the passing of his grandfather, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. The lyrics are written from the perceived perspective of his grandfather whilst he was suffering from the illness. The song was written with a loop pedal, with the foundations of the percussive section borne out of tapping on the body of an acoustic guitar.  The song builds throughout, with layers syncopating and harmonising. The song crescendos, looping and evolving; repetitious, before coming to a peaceful end, reflecting the nature of the illness.
