Out now on Above & Beyond's imprint Anjunabeats: gardenstate & Bien's emotive collaboration 'The Best Part'.

Originally released in 2016 by Bien, gardenstate’s Marcus Schössow discovered the track while browsing Netflix. After contacting the Nashville-based indie pop band, their collaboration made its way to Anjunabeats in July 2021.

Included on gardenstate's 'Inspirations' album (released in October 2021), the heartfelt track has seen a new lease of life in recent months. 'The Best Part' has been streamed over five million times as of May 2022, with over 47,000 videos using the track on Instagram Reels, and support in Spotify's 'Chill Tracks' and 'Viral Dance' playlists.

'The Best Part' has also been remixed by Patrice Bäumel and Lost Prince, with Patrice's remix becoming a favourite of UK tastemakers Camelphat, and supported multiple times on BBC Radio 1 by Pete Tong.

Thirsty Eyes has been composing electronic music for more than a decade under many aliases. His long lasting DJ career has helped him detect every single vibration from the crowd in the clubs and hes already been able to transpose this energy to his music in the studio. Now he's ready to widen borders between House and Techno with his genre-fluid vision about club music. The debut of Thirsty Eyes will be split into two releases and starts with RATE GATE, a dark and hypnotic track that combines a continuos powerful bassline with a mystic lead and adds a lot of energy to the dance floor. The remix for the title track RATE GATE was done by inhouse artist SNYL and this one goes straight into our specific Indie Dance genre and shows the development of the artist, taking his powerful brand into a new dimension. In 2011 London duo Nick Harriman and Alfie Granger-Howell, aka Dusky, released their debut album ‘Stick By This’. The LP, released on UK independent label Anjunadeep, won acclaim from Resident Advisor, DJ Mag and Mixmag, who described it as “deep, soulful, swooning house”. Pete Tong crowned ‘Stick By This’ as “one of the albums of the year”, and it went on to kick-start Dusky’s rise to the top of the UK underground.

Marking a decade since it’s release, ‘Stick By This’ is being re-issued as a deluxe 10th anniversary edition, with a first ever vinyl pressing on a 3x12” colour vinyl. The deluxe album also sees two new remixes from the legendary Matthew Herbert and exciting Russian artist Maruwa, alongside an existing remix from Midland.

Anjunadeep founder James Grant reflects on the album…

The LP expanded our sonic horizons, launched Dusky on their trajectory as a respected leader of the UK house scene, and is one of those rare albums where every single track is worth its place. It’s all killer and no filler - a seamless, engaging listen from start to finish.”

Out today, the first remix comes courtesy of Matthew Herbert. A pioneering producer, composer and music theorist, Herbert has remixed Quincy Jones, Björk, Ennio Morricone, DJ Koze and more. Built around Janai’s echoing vocals, Herbert transforms the original track into an 11-minute ‘Lost Dub’.

Casting new light on the songs and musicality at its heart, ‘Rise (Live & In Session)’ collates live and session recordings of five tracks from the album, recorded with collaborators Solomon Grey and Lulu James and featuring live keys and arrangement from Daniel himself.

Album opener ‘Loving You’ appears as an ‘In Session’ performance with original vocalist and Jon Hopkins collaborator Lulu James.

Long-time collaborators Solomon Grey return on of ‘Diamonds’ and ‘Hot As You Want’, taken from the popular ‘In Session’ videos debuted last year, originally premiered by Fact Magazine.

Closing the EP is a recorded live rendition of ‘Hot As You Want’ and a Solomon Grey-sung live cover of ‘Loving You’, both taken from an intimate Lane 8 live show at Peckham Liberal Club in London.
