Leading electronic producers and composers Anyma (from Tale Of Us) and Chris Avantgarde join forces to create a new collaboration “Consciousness”. 

Anyma’s first vocal single of 2022 follows  his widely celebrated, Kate Bush inspired single “Running,” which has  been a cross genre staple within electronic music since its release back in late 2021.

By combining Anyma’s dominant synthesisers and Chris Avantgarde’s scoring talents the track balances an eerie robotic vocal, detailing the  definition of consciousness itself - atop frenetic drums and robust synths. Anyma has been busy touring as one half of the esteemed techno duo Tale Of Us, where “Consciousness” has become the opening track that sets the vivid scene that Anyma and Tale Of Us are known for. Anyma will continue to tour extensively this year with a residency at Ibiza’s famed super-club Hï, with countless global appearances this summer such as EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, and many more.

Great Dane Denis Horvat is back on Afterlife with an epic four-track odyssey.

Denis’ penchant for synth-driven melodic techno is evident across all four of these scintillating cuts. Title track ‘Cha Cha’ percolates and throbs, using a distinct vocal clip and exhilarating synth arrangements to create indelible memories. ‘Precious Unica’ brings in vocalist Lelah for a dour journey into our mind’s emotional center. ‘Momentum Of The Arapaima’ merges unusual percussive elements with a moody bassline and an earworm vocal clip for ultimate dance floor effervescence. Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes of Tale Of Us & Vaal's latest single 'Monument' (AL006). They both take on the title track, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive. For the digital-only third contribution, Adriatique (the Swiss duo of Adrian Schweizer and Adrian Shala) give the drums some extra punch and cloak the vocal in spacey reverb.

Few artists today are more responsible for the recent resurgence of lo-fi house as a genre in dance music than Harrison Webber, better known as Harrison BDP. His instant classics such as “Decompression” and “It’s Foggy Outside,” along with the work of others, have helped lay down the foundation for a sound that’s low on frills but high on emotion through its superb utilization of classic techniques and poignant vocal sampling. It’s a formula that has shown itself to be well-appreciated by house-heads alike, earning his songs millions of plays on youtube channels around the globe in a relatively short amount of time.

In his latest release titled “Confusion Of Sound,” Mr. BDP fully attempts to explore the outer reaches of this genre by constructing an EP that contains two extremes. The A-side of the record lands on the soothing end of the spectrum, designed with the intent of relaxing the listener into a stable trance that’s marked by lush synth melodies and playful percussion. On the other hand, the B-side seems to be more tuned for the dancefloor, taking listeners on a cosmic journey of euphoric acid-house.

His song “The Flow” happens to fall on the A-side, and fans of Harrison BDP will instantly recognize it as the work of the Cardiff producer. From the length of the song (coming in at about 10 minutes) to the expertly selected quotes used to complement the track’s celestial feel, this tune embodies everything we’ve come to know Harrison BDP as at this early point in his young career. “The Flow” will surely fit right in with his already star-studded discography and help the producer win the ears of more music lovers in 2018.
