Closing 2023 with a breathtaking selection of new music, Purified Fragments returns for its seventeenth installment. Featuring three pristine productions, this compilation showcases music from Polish artist Rafa’EL (Soulmotion), Italian producer Birø (løst it all) and Argentine duo Cimmerian & Luciano F (Interconnect).

The Fragments XVII artwork displays a spectacular photograph of a jellyfish by Daniel Nicholson. Ancient inhabitants of the seas, jellyfish fascinate with their ethereal and often mesmerizing presence. These gelatinous organisms, encompassing a wide variety of species, have evolved an array of survival strategies, from venomous tentacles to bioluminescence. Their population dynamics, influenced by factors like warming waters and nutrient-rich habitats, underscore their adaptability to changing environments. Studying jellyfish's ecological roles is crucial as they influence marine food webs and serve as indicators of ocean health. Organizations like the Marine Biological Association contribute to the ongoing scientific exploration of jellyfish, shedding light on their importance in the larger context of marine ecosystems. Lack of comprehensive data makes it challenging to assess the conservation status of most jellyfish species according to the IUCN Red List. 

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.

Le Youth, aka LA based producer Wes James, unveils his first originals on Anjunabeats with double A-side ‘Gemini / Arizona’.

Le Youth has been a force in dance music since his crossover hits ‘C O O L’ and ‘Dance With Me’ stormed the UK charts in 2013. Heavily inspired by the European progressive sound pioneered by Sasha, John Digweed and Eric Prydz, Wes recently remixed 3LAU’s ‘Tokyo’ (feat. XIRA) and released an EP on Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint, all while running his own label and event brand, PRGRSSN.  

Getting a big nod of approval from Jono, Tony and Paavo, ‘Arizona’ was featured on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 15 compilation.
