Every time Guy J releases his solo material on Lost & Found, the world of music lovers is ready for a treat. He's not only one of the leaders of the global scene but a musical innovator pushing the limits of studio techniques and borders of abstract emotional content. His latest conceptual masterpiece consists of two tracks ranging in length from over 7 to almost 11 minutes and a total run time of over 18 minutes. The opening track, Last Standing, blends the progressive motifs with an out-of-this-world anthemic breakdown. The piece is simultaneously melodic and nostalgic but manages to deliver a new, previously unheard edge to the technical execution of the production. The closing track, Fire, uses temperamental arpeggio resonances, constructing a mystical soundscape for a joyride into a higher state of perception. Guy’s sonic skills work as a hypnotic tool. Dance With Me is a chilled out dance banger which oozes good vibes and groove. The catchy hooks comes in with the beat to absorb you into the world of Hums and the jumpy bassline adds the depth and texture you crave. As the song builds, the beat develops and the sequenced melody gives the song bounds of flavour. Clever use of filters and shifters give this one excellent dynamic range and once everything joins up you are left craving more from Hums.

The man behind Hums is Elias Durac – a 26-year-old producer who now lives in Helsinki, Finland.

Originally from Turku, he’s had a passion for music since he was a kid, all the way from early school bands and teenage EDM projects with his older brother to his easy-going indie alter-ego Fabianossa that now co-exists with the more electronic and ethereal Hums. Still, for Elias, it’s always been about fun and play. However, with Hums it became a bit deeper – an outlet.

In 2022, after dealing with some personal issues, the songs came pouring out of him in just one week. As a result, there’s an effortlessness that would be hard to fake if one would have fiddled with the production for months on end. The feeling is amplified by the spur-of-the-moment vocals that are more often than not sampled from his phone’s old voice recordings. Sure, you can hear the Dan Snaith fanboy there, but Elias is the first to name Caribou as one of the big influences.

Nonetheless, this true sound healing, born from inner necessity. Pure self-expression straight from his home studio, straight from his heart. And quite frankly, what the world needs now.

The first single from Hums’ debut EP “Adore” releases on 24th March 2023 on Needwant.

Berlin-based producer and live act Nils Hoffmann releases his latest single “Lonely”, and will be launching his new Phenomena project with its first EP to be released July 28 on Anjunadeep.

In this new single, Nils collaborates with talented British singer-songwriter Rae Morris, who is known for her previous work with Lane 8 on the track ’No Fun’ and acclaimed by Clash, NME and The Guardian. Nils pairs Rae Morris' heartfelt vocals with warm synths characteristic to his sound, creating a pop-influenced summer anthem.

The Phenomena EP series is a new ongoing project for Nils to release music that feels fitting for the present moment.

“There's so much beautiful music that I'm excited to share with you in the future,” said Nils, “which leads me to my new Phenomena releases. While working towards my next album, there are some tracks that I just couldn't wait to release. Maybe the inspiration felt too current to save, or the tunes felt appropriate for the season, this project will give me a running series to keep things fresh.”

Nils described his inspiration behind the single, saying “"Lonely", features  a beautiful vocal from Rae Morris. I made this for my live sets, and it was inspired by the highs and lows of my first headline tour this past winter. Going from the euphoria of performing to sleepless nights in hotels around the world is quite an experience, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.”

Nils’ latest single follows the release of his highly praised album ‘A Radiant Sign’ which has amassed over 20m streams and radio support on BBC Radio 1, SiriusXM Chill, KCRW and more. The album reached #1 on iTunes Dance and was championed by the likes of Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn and Eelke Kleijn, to name a few.

This summer, Nils is embarking on an extensive tour, with over 30 shows across Europe and the USA. His performances included renowned events including Tomorrowland, ABGT Weekender at the Gorge and Anjunadeep Open Air at The Brooklyn Mirage.

This November Ryan Davis’ most-recent EP ‘Home’ gets two new remixes courtesy of the United Kingdom’s Vessels and Russian producers Gorje Hewek & Izhevski. Vessels' reinterpretation of ‘Obsidian’ elaborates on the original’s deep and dark undertones, laying other-worldly pads and cascading arpeggios on a kick-heavy drumline. Conversely, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski present a lighter, melodic rework of Davis ‘Dimmed’; the duo build on Davis’ organic sound design to compose a piece which is both introspective and refined.
