Straight and Narrow

Just Wait Until Tomorrow is both a dedication and a reminder. It is written for Brieze Montiero, and for myself, and for anyone who has ever stood in that place where the noise inside feels louder than the world around them.

This song began as a message I needed to hear, a simple line that kept me alive when I felt like I had already disappeared:
"Just wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow might still need you."

The track carries the sound of exhaustion and hope at once. Strings and guitars rise slowly out of silence, meeting a vocal that sounds like it is trying to hold its own weight. It is honest, imperfect, and deliberate in how it allows space to breathe.

I wrote this after learning the reality about Brieze’s passing, what he endured in his final years and in reflection of the violence, trauma and systematic injustices I faced myself and survived by few others - although way too many woman and men experience this. It is not only about loss, but about the way our culture often overlooks the emotional destruction men experience during relationship breakdowns. Too many are left without support and too many are lost because the conversation still frames vulnerability as weakness.

This song is a call to break that pattern. It is a voice for those who were never heard, a message to anyone who feels trapped in grief, silence, or blame.
