Chasing Cadence are an Alternative/ Rock quintet from Hertfordshire, striving to be recognised as the leading band in their genre.

Having released five singles with accompanying videos, along with the release of their EP 'Pages' (recorded by Oz Craggs - Feed The Rhino, Hildamay), the boys are quickly becoming noted as one of the most exciting bands on the UK music scene.

Chasing Cadence have opened for the the likes of Taking Back Sunday and Don Broco, and have played some of the UK's best festivals including Download, Takedown and Camden Rocks.

In February 1999, three longtime friends from West Texas went to a pizza place in Austin, Texas, for a prearranged meeting with a young man from Illinois. The Illinoisan had just moved to Austin, and he had put up a flyer that caught the interest of the others. They ate pizza and discussed movies and arcana. They also decided to meet the next day with their various instruments (two guitars, bass, and drums). This happened, and over the coming months they picked a band name, then picked a better band name, then wrote and recorded an album. That album, called How Strange, Innocence, was largely out of tune, but the band members didn't really notice at the time. They optimistically printed 300 copies, and gave most of them away. It turned out they really liked playing together, so they kept doing so. A friend of theirs sent a recording of one of their live shows to a record label in Baltimore, and that label offered to put out albums for the band. The band agreed.

His SoundCloud page alone has garnered over 70K+ followers and over 30M+ plays. Impressive numbers like these helped land him on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart. This isn’t just a testament to his top-notch production skills, but also his keen ability to build and harness a highly interactive online fan base.

In 2012, Microsoft recognized that direct audience connection and chose Wick-it to produce a song for their Windows 8/Angry Birds: Star Wars commercial that they blasted to millions of prime-time viewers. Even before that in 2010, Big Boi of Outkast picked up his mashup project ‘The Brothers Of Chico Dusty’ which helped projectile his popularity. To add even more fuel to the fire, in 2015 Sia picked Wick-it’s remix to be her official remix for ‘Elastic Heart’. Since then he has done official remixes for the likes of Kesha, ZZ Ward, KC & The Sunshine Band and Figure.

With successful headline tours supplemented by huge sets playing with Skrillex, Pretty Lights, GRiZ, Herobust and others, it’s obvious his talent and success extend far beyond the studio.

This Vicious Cabaret are a Post-Hardcore band from Watford, Hertfordshire (SikTh, Gallows) already known for their bipolar blend of aggressive & melodic vocals and their energetic (see also: Sweaty) live shows.

Their influences include the passionate energy of Finch, the aggression of Alexisonfire, the melodic choruses of Funeral For A Friend and the progressive edge of Thrice and Coheed & Cambria.

Together they have created something new and individual, a sound which is constantly evolving, taking cues from their shared love of Post Hardcore, Punk and Progressive music.

Their debut EP ‘City Of Ghosts’ has been well received since its release in October 2011, leading to positive reviews and airplay (inc. Watford's Vibe 107.6 and Total Rock Radio) while the band continue to headline shows around Hertfordshire, spurred on by a passionate fan base. 

This is only the beginning for This Vicious Cabaret, with more gigs, further recordings and a 2012 tour on the horizon.

ARCANE ROOTS set to release debut mini album, the awesome ‘Left Fire’ on Feb 21st

ARCANE ROOTS are a very new London based 3 piece who came together in 2009 and are now already set to release their quite incredible debut mini album ‘Left Fire’. Influenced by the likes of Fall of Troy, Foals, Refused and At the Drive-In/The Mars Volta this stunning record manages to be ambitious and pop, heavy and epic, comfortingly familiar and something completely unique - fresh in equal measure and all at the same time.

As Andrew (vocals and guitar) explains, the meanings behind the songs do vary, but have a common thread of working out how to understand the world around you. ‘’In this town of such weather’ is about change, starting again and finding something/someone new to put your energy into. The lyrics were written in Amsterdam (hence the Dutch titled intro) during Autumn 2009. The autumn and winter months are always so inspiring and exciting, it’s about being in such a beautiful place at that time of year and finding a new sense of clarity and direction, and not wanting to lose it.’ While he goes on, regarding ‘You Are’, ‘When this song was first written, it was about trying to figure out what you want from a relationship and how futile that is. But it eventually became (after being re-written more than once) a manual of finding what you want by not looking for it and building something strong from the beginning’. And on the awesome ‘Rouen’, ‘The demise of a relationship in a small town in France, and everything that comes along with it’.

The 5 main tracks are ‘book-ended’ by 3 smaller musical pieces (marked i/ii/iii). These blend musically and thematically throughout the whole album, making it more of a seamless journey and far more than just any regular debut record. Mile-high choruses clash against angular 3 way vocal screams and shouts, packed full of hooks and driving, piercing guitar riffs and a rhythm section constantly changing its mind where to drop you off at. A stunning and brilliant release, one where you hear something new and exciting on each listen. ARCANE ROOTS are a band to cherish and be excited about, and this first release is just the tip of their massive potential.
2011 should be prepared for something very, very special.

Live wise, even though they have only been a touring band for a small while, the band have already toured and played shows with the likes of To The Bones, Sucioperro, Tangled Hair, Hold Your Horse Is and Pharaohs. Look out for headline dates and more support tours before and around the mini album release (all TBA in the coming weeks).
