As we fall back into club season, Typeless looks to the Parisian producer, Trois-Quarts Taxi System, for its tenth release. 

This 4-track EP is lined with hypnotic melodies, complex rhythms, and organic textures that converge to create a well thought out and layered piece of production. Markham Road Records is back steering steady with atch22, Count, Rizla Ops, and Teqmun in the driver seats. MR003 finds form as a quartet of percussion providing some real bang for your buck. This release was dreamt up for quick stepping activity, and the four tracks assembled provide a wide ranging toolkit to get us all moving. Although each artist provides a unique solution, movement was and remains the underlying idea behind this third release. 

Count’s “Hexagon” opens the project up with a spaced out ‘builder’ that seems to continuously fold in on itself. The track progresses through its 4 minute lifespan with natural and intuitive progression. With its sub heavy cadence “Hexagon” seeps through the speakers, and is sure to remain reliable when used under many circumstances.

traverse is very honored to unveil Berlin-based artist Prieste5s’s first EP on traverse, « Enchantress ».

Her music made its way through various platforms and labels, from Pino Peña’s W133 to Kangding Ray’s ARA and has always had a special place in our ears. Prieste5s’s workflow and research for organic sounds, paired with the minimalism of her production, brings a new depth and drive to her music. From Willow to 10,000 Lux she depicts a powerful landscape full of percs and toms that will get to your mind and feet.

Through Enchantress Prieste5s showcases her love for bass, percussion and hypnotic sounds, building a deep atmosphere and minimalist groove throughout the four tracks.

« Thematically, I take a lot of influences from the natural world, geology, and spirituality. Having studied evolutionary biology previously, I have a fascination for all things relating to natural-history. And as a somewhat spiritual person, I also enjoy exploring through my music the idea of one’s personal connection to the earth. I really like to play with the juxtaposition of technology and nature, both in the process as well as the materials I use. For me, it’s a way of showing that we should still seek harmony with nature even amid the chaos of the modern world. I feel like a big theme in my music is the ephemerality of the natural world and how we as participants of that experience can find ways to connect in a magical, childlike sort of way. »
