Zakariya Uthman Bilal Ibn Abdul-Aleem (born October 5, 1977), known by his stage name Dusty South Roads (or simple Dus) is an African American Muslim rapper and writer. Inspired by the Gulf war and his Muslim father who was a member of the black panther party, Dus began writing rebel music fueling his raps by educating him self and receiving a bachelors in science from York college/City College, majoring in political science and receiving a minor in African American studies. 

Mr. Dusty introduced his form of religious hard core rap to the under ground by performing at such venues as the Palladium, Lions Din, the Lebanon Lounge, Blue Light, Q Club, Trafalgar Square, and Faces in the crowd, also competing in a number of rap battles. Appearing on a number of mix tapes hosted by DJ’s Dirty Harry, DJ Supreme to name a few. Dus has collaborated with artist Tek (from Smif N Wessun) and Casanova Rudd. Mr. Dus also appeared on Video Music Box hosted by DJ Ralph McDaniel’s and Crazy Sam, but became know in the underground when he was featured on the banned and unreleased album One Nation, which was 2pac’s last attempt to end the east cost west cost beef before he was killed. 

After serving a two year bid in Wyoming correctional for position of a controlled sustenance and aggravated assault, Dus was released to the general population redirecting his anger and rage becoming a political and social activist. Fused by a diverse culture and back ground, most of Dus’s songs are about the hardships in the ghetto, racism, political injustice and unrest.
