Dots+Loops is Australia’s post-genre music and arts series, inclusively exploring the spaces in between a traditional classical concert, an underground club gig, and an experimental art show. 

We take exciting, adventurous and thought-provoking live art of all kinds, and present it in relaxed, accessible urban spaces. Combined with a passion for community, social equity, and quality over quantity, our shows culminate in a unique performance experience, which has been consistently applauded by critics, audiences and performers alike.

Since forming in early 2014, we've put on twenty critically acclaimed concert experiences. These past shows have featured Australian and world premieres of music by Nico Muhly, Caroline Shaw, Kate Moore and Chris Perren; collaborations with internationally recognised, award-winning artists such as David T. Little, Bec Plexus, Ashley Bathgate, Todd Reynolds and Ken Thomson; and immersive visual art from Team Animal Spirits, Connor D’Netto, Ingrid Bartkowiak and Slato.

DISCOVER NEARBY ARTISTS:

If the artist has allowed their songs to be downloaded, you can add the song they just played (and you loved) to your Tune Bank right away or when you get home!

GIG CALENDARS:
A great feature for artists is the synchronised gig calendars. If any band/project member (or promoter) creates an event, everyone will be notified of the gig and their gig calendar instantly updated. No more “What date/time was that gig again?”. And no more “What gear do I need?” thanks to all the necessary gig details including load in and backline details, time and place, set times, number of people invited and who has confirmed attendance. It even includes the venue location on the map! No more “Where is it again?”

PUSH MESSAGES:
With push messages, be 100% sure people don’t forget you. You can send them out into the crowd and anyone who has the BandAidz app will get not just your message but also all your social media links. But be careful, you can only send one every 4 hours so make it count!

PROMOTERS:
We couldn’t forget promoters! Ever been endlessly searching for an artist of a specific genre within a specific location and want to know if they’re available? Well now you can, and within seconds! You can search all of the above and see if the artists are available from their gig calendars. If they are, you can exchange messages. No restrictions! We Are Breathing is the duo project of Australian composer/performer Connor D’Netto and American cellist Ben Baker.

Ben and Connor met in mid 2017 at Bang On A Can’s annual Summer Music Festival at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art where the two were both artists-in-residence. After, the pair sought to collaborate on a project bringing together their various musical backgrounds spanning classical, folk and electronic music, their love of diverse musical styles from minimalism, electronica, alt-rock and jazz, and their passion and drive to create and engage in art unconstrained by style or genre.

The result is We Are Breathing, a new music duo creating raw, tender and emotional sounds straddling across musical worlds. With Ben on cello and Connor on synths and live electronics, their music fuses Connor’s unique post-minimal compositional voice, Ben’s virtuosic playing, both as a contemporary classical musician and a folk musician and improviser, with live signal processing and electronics creating complexly layered immersive experiences.
