Riding With The King, a John Hiatt song from 1983, has also been covered by Eric Clapton and BB King as well as Joe Bonamassa, considered by many as the top guitarist today.  Bonamassa changed the title and song to Riding With The Kings (plural) and used it as the theme song for a tour where he played the songs of BB, Albert, and Freddie King.

Thank you to those that have personally stated their appreciation for our music.  Also thanks to those that, knowing our musical style, have suggested additional songs that we might record and play live in the future.

While we have continued to record tracks, our collective schedules and circumstances have created a slight delay in our completed accomplishments.  We continue to create for our first album release and look forward to seeing you in person after its completion.

California Dreamin

Thomas Rucktenwald presents an original pop music song, “A Little Insane,” written in 1995 and it has a US copyright.

While this might seem like a song ripe for cancellation in today’s culture, it is literally a satire about being harmlessly overly enamored. I had been working with an outstanding hip-hop duo and the samples and verbal asides inserted into this song were a lot of fun.

This sassy song demo was written and recorded in my Connecticut digital recording studio but it was never performed nor publicly promoted.  When you listen to this recording, you will be one of the first to hear this song.  Every musical note and sound is me; no others perform on this recording.

A Little Insane

Thomas Rucktenwald presents an original jazz instrumental ballad, “When She Goes Away,” written in 1973 and it has a US copyright.

The song was composed when I was a Master’s degree student at the University of Illinois.  I was working on an electronic music composition that was to be used by a dance student.  She was vivacious and beautiful.  I remember the exhilaration in working with her during the composition and recording work in the U of I Electronic Music Studios.  The body of the song reflects the mood change I experienced when she left.

This song recording was created and recorded in my Connecticut digital recording studio; in fact, it was the first song produced in that studio.  I changed the arrangement to include 3 acts or musical segments. The song was never performed live nor was the song publicly promoted.  When you listen to this recording, you will be one of the first to hear this song.  Every musical note and sound is me; no others perform on this recording.

When She Goes Away

This recording is very different.  I hope you enjoy the incredible original and creative perspective.

When Woody Wilson first shared the musical tracks for this, I told him he was born too late.  In the 50's he would have been a very successful part of the beatnik contingency and would have created many memorable pieces combining music and lyrics, words, or poetry.  

Anyone that played in a gigging band is familiar with the musician who seems always the last to pack, and not just because they have a lot of stuff but because they are distracted and get engaged elsewhere.  9 times out of 10, it is the drummer, the guy who does have the most stuff to pack.  

When this was completed, I sat back and laughed and laughed.  And, yes, Pete is a real character from my past and this scenario actually played out pretty much as in this recording.
