Our journey began in 2015, rooted in a simple idea: to create a platform on YouTube dedicated to showcasing the nuanced world of "sophisticated Jazz-oriented electronic music." Fueled by the desire to fill the niche genre of Jazz-House, we embarked on a mission to curate and share tracks that often eluded mainstream recognition.

As an artist, founding member and A&R of theBasement Discos and its sublabels, Sam Paradise began leaving a mark on the House scene in 2019.

Sam's tracks and mixes range from soulful and jazzy House through peaktime Disco and Garage to 90s Acid and Progressive House as well as Hip-House and Breaks. 

His tracks have been supported by artists like Cinthie, Dam Swindle, Chrissy, Herr Krank, and Niles Cooper.

Sam Paradise's gigs have taken him all through Germany and to several European countries where he played alongside artists like Cinthie, Johannes Albert, Amy Dabbs, Robert Owens, Cooper Saver, and Fred P. 

As a label manager of theBasement Discos - Beatport Hype Label of the Year 2024 - Sam has worked together with artists like Todd Edwards, Niles Cooper, Kid Simius, Coeo, Fernanda Arrau, Sandilé or Rhode & Brown. theBasement Discos and its sublabels' tracks have been played by Bicep, Jamie XX, Disclosure, Demuja, TSHA, Anja Schneider, The Blessed Madonna, Moodymann, Peggy Gou, and more.

Dutch, Rotterdam-based DJ & Producer Stef Davidse is making his strides these days. His music travels the world with as many as 163 countries. His music is supported by big names like Jamie Jones, Archie Hamilton, Josh Baker, East End Dubs to name a few. As a young boy, he loved listening to electronic music but fell in love with house music in 2018. At the time making hip hop was his thing but that shifted to experimenting with house music on a daily basis. 

The music Stef is looking for can be described as rolling tunes with a recognisable bass and outstanding synths, which can be clearly heard in his productions and sets. Vocals, Synths and a rolling bass line are Stef's priorities. A jack-of-all-trades, Stef likes to explore different styles and push his musical boundaries. Stef believes that music is a universal language spoken by everyone. For Stef, the concept of music means unity and living in the moment.
