In 2019, Germany’s Planet Radio once again launched a brand-new custom ID jingle package produced by Wisebuddah in London. The CHR station, based in Frankfurt, returned to us for a package comprised of a TOTH and Showopener suite, alongside 15 new IDs.

The Jubal Show and PURE Jingles are two spicy ingredients of iHeartMedia’s all-new HITS 106.1 Seattle!

The Top 40 station was formerly known as 106.1 Kiss FM, and now rebranded as “The New Home of The Jubal Show and Commercial Free Weekends” (after stunting as Jubal 106.1 for about two weeks).

German public broadcasting station, 1LIVE, have launched an extensive overhaul of their station sound and imaging, teaming up with London-based production company Wisebuddah for the first time.

Every day, nearly 3 million people listen to the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) station across North-Rhine Westphalia, tuning in for some of the most varied and progressive content on German radio. 

Reflecting this, Wisebuddah have produced a package that features over 35 distinct compositions, ranging from IDs to Show Openers and talkover Beds, along with a brand-new set of Information Elements and Sweepers. The new audio identity is then all brought together with the station’s brand-new sonic logo, which has been designed to underpin the uniqueness of the German station.

David Mannheim, Brand Manager, 1LIVE added: “For the “new 1LIVE” we were looking for an individual and unmistakable package that sounds urban, modern, warm, young, dynamic, but by no means cheap or stressful. In addition, the new sound package should pick up on current music trends and optimally adapt to the 1LIVE playlist. In the first meetings we explained to the Wisebuddah team our philosophy and conveyed what DNA 1LIVE carries. 

This balancing act - intense and dynamic, but not sounding stressful or annoying - was implemented very well by Wisebuddah. The final elements are very easy to drive and combine optimally with the range of content that 1LIVE displays daily in the program: events, comedies, topics from the sector, current news and listener interaction.”

Phil Tozer, Wisebuddah’s Managing Director, said: “David and the team asked us to create a wide-ranging package that really represented 1LIVE and its listeners and wanted us (like them) to be courageous and unconventional. From meetings in London, to great collaborative discussions and listening sessions, this was always at the forefront of our minds. 
It means we have created something that, from both a musical and a branding point of view, flows smoothly through and connects the stations programming, yet resonates on an individual level too; be that with a presenter’s personality or the next song on the 1LIVE playlist.

Sponsor credits on a radio station needs to sound just as good as the imaging, because it’s an opportunity to lose listeners. 

That’s where WIZZFX came in.

Partnering with Joe and the Hits Radio team, we created and delivered more sponsor credit music. 10 custom tracks featuring bespoke sound design and vocal post production. With names like Chasing You, Cobalt, Culture, Flavor of the Day, Juice, Lost World, North Feel, Tequila, Toronto, Typhoon.

And just like our previous delivery, each piece contains creative vocal production designed to be combined, mixed, shifted and edited to fit a variety of sponsor credit and show name lengths.

Sublime plays the best Funk, Soul & Jazz, and makes a difference for a better world by offering positive and encouraging headlines, positioned as The News of Progress. The Rhythmic AC format already attracts over 400,000 different listeners a week; a demo which is active, well educated, and culture & lifestyle oriented.

Station manager Rick Waltmann came to us for an authentic sound. Played by great session musicians and complemented by very soulful vocals (from Dutch soul diva, Berget Lewis). The package will match timeless music by Marvin Gaye and Earth Wind & Fire, as well as current core artists Anderson Paak and Alicia Keys.

To emphasize the message of Sublime, these 10 bespoke jingle IDs are not ending with the brand name, but with a catchy tagline instead; the new slogan Let’s Get It On. A sublime & sexy on air sound for the station that radiates positive energy, this is Sublime 2021!
