I wrote this sitting on the beautiful stern lounge deck of the S.S. Norway for the Chip Hoehler Orchestra in the summer of 1983, checking voicings with a little battery powered Casio keyboard. Chip was looking for some new vocal charts for our singer and we came up with this idea as a short (hopefully) engaging opener of her set. 

DOLORES
I brought this chart to the library of the Army Jazz Ambassadors when word got out that we had just hired a killing new jazz vocal soloist. The late, great Dolores King Williams always delivered this chart with her excellent energy and top-notch professional musicianship. It was always such a pleasure to work with her and just hang with her in the Unit Coffee Shop. May God bless and comfort all who miss her.
