If you have ever heard Nils Frahm’s “Says,” (and if you haven’t, I recommend immediately listening), you probably share the same sentiment as me, in that successfully executing a remix of such an incredible and intricate work of musical genius without destroying it would be an extremely difficult, if not impossible, feat to accomplish. Some unknown remixer (update: it’s The Three Hands Collective) has managed to pull it off, more than doing justice to the original by maintaining the highlight on Nils Frahm’s gorgeous, complex and tension-building melodies, but drawing it into the realm of danceability with the addition of subtle embellishing sounds that do not overwhelm or detract from the beauty of the original, and selective periods of percussion, including dropping the beat back in at the precisely the goosebump-inducing zenith of the melody. It’s a very slow-building and anticipatory auditory journey requiring extreme patience, but the payoff is huge and well-worth it, justified by the wave of chills sent down my spine by the absolute melancholic bliss. You can hear it in Italian duo Mind Against‘s recent phenomenal dark and rather minimal set recorded at Goethebunker in Essen, Germany on Soundcloud at the 1:10:00 mark.

Days are disappearing and nights are taking over. We witness a burst of colour just before it clears space for the bright white blanket. And this new season brings another Amselcom release.

Sweden’s Victor Norman is guided by the signs of the time in his extraordinary track “Hymn”. He gently unites depth and gloom with fragile melancholy to form a moving and sensual track.

Bernstein and Birds of Mind attend to the original, each concentrating on a different characteristic. While the former adds drive to underline the verve of the tune, the French duo intensifies the melodic and frisky side of the track.

To round off the release, Victor teams up with slowmo specialist Harro Triptrap in a hot turn. “Mimikry” first appears to be a peaceful creature, but its rogue character eventually shows itself.

Winter treats us to storms and nights of fire. And these feelings are captured by the photographer Xiao Yang, adding the perfect optical surrounding to the release.

Deset spirit is a very organic masterpiece. This track has a special vibe that can easily caught the listener into a deep hypnotic journey.
 The rest of the sounds like the melody , bass lead and ambience sounds help to construct a great atmosphere around them , which are also working in combination with the smooth deep bass line the seattles up the groove perfectly.

Don Juan : is a deep underground track with a beautiful blend of bass line, punchy and percussive elements, with a superb shamanic vocals lines.
It’s presents a techy rhythm that easily create an almost hypnotic but really groovy environment. Several fills and other percussive elementes creating great articulations between the base and vocals, are constantly helping to build the tracks’s vibe too.

Theres a tale of a place where there was no time, no shame, pure happiness and freedom, it was called the Bar 25.
I discovered the Bar 25 in my early teens and all the pictures that i saw and the music that came out of this place inspired in me a wonderful, naive picture of night life. It grew at a time before i really knew what things like drugs and escapism were, only on the love for freedom to be whoever you want, flashy colourful lights and electronic music.
I still carry this picture with me and will never stop believing in it. When i watched the Bar 25 Movie again recently and this one little piece of music by the absolutely insane @reecode came on, i felt this image bloom in my chest and i wanted to honor this place and thank it for were it brought me.
