cold dragon breath: the cause of death
I protect and intercept
tears of ice, dead soldiers wept
Secrets kept, this callers home
I'll die before that fact be known
The king himself, the red wings flown
overblown aggesion shown
Prone, but I won't stand down
to Baron or it's pompous crown
I'll die before I let that clown
come snuff out lives and burn this town
Around these caves I rule Supreme
a nightmare in this fantasy
The final thing these ghosts have seen
before they float the Styx, upstream
Your victory, unlikely
I was trained by forces frightening
The cave of summons run by queen asura and leviathan
Unseen, I turn to mist
when they attack I end them twits
I blast 'em quick with ice
that burns like 40 licks of fire, shit
This murk do work on knights and mages for ages 
thousands of names of dead sages
littered on hundreds of pages
Got no patience for vagrants
payments adjacent to anguish
painful assaults on the languid
the abyss your final destination
I ain't playin by sayin'
my teeth leave blood and guts sprayin'
there ain't no game to be savin',
to the moon you rrally should be prayin'
Two men appear from out the dark
and one I sense a fearless heart
the other man be torn apart
from darkness that he cannot thwart
They start apart and slice and slash
their weapons try to pierce my back
I counter with a bite and catch
the dragoon as he's reeling back
I take the chance and turn to mist
in hopes that I can end this quick
the vapor chills their blood gets thick
my icy breath done the trick
They pause and regroup
meanwhile my strength I recoup
my next move I wisely choose
attack and separate the two
The dragoon leaps into the air
the dark knights eyes thry coldly stare into mine
and I see a light of which I was unprepared
To say I'm scared would take it lightly
my final battle this just might be
The dragon of mist defeated
my eyes forever shuttered tightly
rightly had I thought that
the dragoon appears with a blinding flash
and crashes through my middle back
with the piercing blade of his battle lance
I gasp my last, this mighty one
This final fight I couldn'tve won
And as my eyes slowly close
I get one last look at Rydia

Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P. serves presently as Assistant Director of Campus Outreach for the Thomistic Institute. He served previously as an associate pastor at St. Louis Bertrand Church in Louisville, KY where he also taught as an adjunct professor at Bellarmine University. Born and raised near Philadelphia, PA, he attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville, studying mathematics and humanities. Upon graduating, he entered the Order of Preachers in 2010. He was ordained a priest in 2016 and holds an STL from the Dominican House of Studies.

Professor Raymond Hain is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Providence College and Associate Director of the Providence College Humanities Program. He received his BA in Philosophy from Christendom College and his MA and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied under Ralph McInerny and David Solomon. He works primarily in moral philosophy in the Thomistic tradition, as well as topics in applied ethics (especially bioethics and the ethics of architecture) and connections between philosophy and literature. As part of the Humanities Program, he directs the Providence College Humanities Forum and the Providence College Humanities Reading Seminars.

Dr. James Madden lives in Atchison, KS with his wife (Jennifer) and their children. He is originally from Wisconsin, where he received a B.A. from St. Norbert College, and did his graduate work at Kent State (MA, 1998) and Purdue (Ph.D., 2002). He was awarded the Benedictine College Distinguished Educator of the Year Award in 2006.
